Hasn't the "Sonic Cycle" thought you anything?? You better wait to try it before claiming the triumphant return of Sonic.

Also, the fact that it's going to be released in "episodes" is a turn down for me... I want a whole damn game, not bits of it just so Sega can get more money out of it.

I love sidescroller Sonics so I will be giving it a shot but I dont see it being Sonics comeback.

At this point I think it shouldve been 2D HD and the Sonic Advance team shouldve helped.

While they didn't cause my ears to bleed, the majority of the soundtrack simply did not standout or catchy enough.

The sonic model and animation is horrible, it's like it's moving in slo-mo.

Its looking good, but i find the camera too close up, and the act 2 was just plain pathetic.................but at leats sega is trying again it seems.

Or maybe they hate it because the games have been BAD. Now, I'm not going to attack this game, I'm still skeptical, and I already stated the only problem I see with the game in one of my previous posts.

I've never hyped a Sonic game, but I have a feeling this one will redeem Sonic.

It is not at all impossible that this will be Sonic's comeback.

People forget that although Unleashed and 06 were touted as comebacks, they didn't actually fix the main problems that plague modern Sonic games (Unleashed made some progress as far as Sonic levels are concerned, but it introduced terrible Werehog levels and an equally bad hubworld that broke up the flow of the game; 06 was just a mess in every kind of way, it made every problem that the series had immeasurably worse).

Comments like this (and using the Sonic cycle as an actual argument) are logical fallacies.

Just because Sonic 06 and Unleashed were bad doesn't mean this one will be. 2D entirely changes things. I'm not saying that means the game will be good but it's hardly the same situation.

Sonic Adventure 1 had alot of characters but Sonic's gameplay was still very dominant (he had the longest campaign by far) and Knuckles treasure hunting missions and mech missions were kept short.

In Sonic Adventure 2, the Knuckles/Rouge treasure hunting missions were long, tedious and numerous. They felt like chores. Ditto for Tails/Eggman mech missions.

Sonic Unleashed had even worse problems. The Werehog levels were plain bad and the hubworld was horribly executed.

Meh.

The stage looks really good and coloful. It also reminds me of that Casino level in Sonic 2.

Terrible music though. It should be more exciting not so mellow.

Loving what I'm seeing so far. Don't get what's so bad about the music, seems everyone has forgotten classic tunes.

Look at it this way OP. We'll be enjoying the game while others continue nitpicking it for no reason instead of just playing the game.

It's no wonder they think it's bad. They try their very best to find flaws.

Only issues so far for me are the music and the inclusion of the homing attack. I would have preferred that they used Sonic's pre-Sonic Adventure design but that's just nitpicking on my part. As long as they gameplay is intact it is a step in the right direction. =P
