Some PS5 Pre-Orders being pushed to 2021

This is crazy. I remember Switch preorders were a breeze. Was able to go in on my lunch break, get in line and preorder two just fine on the day they opened

It's BS if they weren't told at the time of pre-order.

I actually pre-ordered mine a week or two before release and still got it on time.

We're truly witnessing a s***show here.

If I preorder I fully expect to have a console day 1.

My pre-order still says November so, we'll see what happens.

Sorry to hear for you PS5 players, hope it doesn't happen to me with my pre-order XSX? I feel bad for you guys/women.

The hope is the people will behave like intelligent adults and realise that the COVID situation will inevitably lead to delays in receiving both the PS5 and the Xbox Series.

It is time to be patient and not fly off the handle at this. I sincerely hope that Twitter and forums like these do not over-react to something that whilst maybe will be a disappointment is not life threatening.

@jcafcwbb: They should have said this earlier for people to be able to make a decision if they wanted to wait or buy the competition. If this is true then Sony are total scum because they hid this info.

This is gamestop we're talking about here. Probably safe to assume it's their fault until told otherwise.

@kuu2: I think calling people having to cope with doing any business in a global pandemic total scum is a sign of over-reacting and also shows a lack of class.

The situation is changing on a daily basis, Anyone with an ounce of common sense would be able to work out that there are no guarantees anymore.

There have already been warnings of the same thing happening for XSX from Amazon at least - although I don't think anyone has officially come out and said "2021" yet

@kuu2: um, MS (or the retailers - whoever is really at "fault") is having the same issue. I think you're casting your systemwarsing net a bit wide.

That's certainly a possibility as it seems to only apply to Gamestop pre-orders.

Glad that I decided to hold off a bit. Not really all that surprising, but it does make me wonder the kind of allotments they got.

uh, why is anyone surprised that pre-orders for a hot new system during a pandemic may not all be fulfilled?

RTX 3080 fiasco and now next-gen consoles pre-orders fiasco, why couldn't companies just wait till 2021 when every supply demands is enough to warrant a purchase for all? I get that meeting holiday demands is a must but gamers can understand and can wait till next year since we're in a worldwide Pandemic situation.

Guess I'll be waiting til next year to get one. No biggie here... I still need a new tv. But hope everyone that really wanted one at launch will be able to get one.

@davillain-: yea I agree. Sony and Microsoft really should have waited for spring 2021 to release the systems. That’s probably when there will be ample supply to buy in a store. 2020 is not a normal year and they should have waited.

That's what people get for preordering from gamestop. I feel confident that Amazon will deliver mine on launch day.

Supply isnt getting any better in 2021 honey. Vaccine will come in june 2021 at the earliest.

That's what them cows deserve shopping at such an evil place like gamespot.

It doesn’t even release until November 19th in that country. So “next year” is literally right around the corner. It’s not like they’re waiting 7 or 8 months lol

Luckily as per what we saw with gamestop Xbox Series X allocation, there wont be a lot of those getting theirs in 2021.

While horrible, this appears to only be Gamestop online orders for Ireland. Unfortunate for those in that situation.

Others have said delivery might be after launch without giving a date. That happened to one of mine.

@tdkmillsy: "One of mine"... meaning you have more than one PS5 system preordered. Glad you won't see that extra PS5 at launch because it means it hopefully goes to someone that actually wants to play it instead of scalp it.

I thought someone would say that, maybe ask before jumping to conculsions.

Not that I have to justify my actions, I wanted a digital version and got in queues for various sites only to lose out. So I pre-ordered a disk version. Later that day a new site started pre-orders and I managed to get a digital and had every intention of cancelling disk version. I then get an email to say digital version might not get to me at launch. So I'm in limbo on what to do.

Keep both. Return one later. I wouldn't trust selling unless its straight up face-to-face. Scalpers are getting trolled hard these days and you'll be trolled as well.

Can you imagine not being able to experience Demon's Souls on day one? I can't. I can't imagine at all. No sane person will ever want to live like that.
