It has a very good mix of combat and environment puzzles, it puts a huge emphasis on gameplay while telling a pretty decent story, the games are always visually pleasing and really have a good sense of "adventure", etc.
People (like me) who liked alot of the concepts in Assasin's Creed, but was astounded by the lack of depth and the ridiculous repitition, owe it to themsleves to play Prince of Persia. The Prince controls somewhat like Altaiir, and the environment he is in is similar to that found in Assasin's Creed (though less realistic). The main difference is that Prince of Persia has a sense of variety, so you won't feel like you're doing the same thing over and over again. Prince of Persia does not have an open world like Assasin's Creed, but that hardly matters when there's more of interest happening in Prince of Persia's more linear environments.
Hmm maybe. If i get it it will be the PC version. It's cheap, it's the game, it's all i need. I'm still doubting. People here reassured me it is less combat focussed and the name Prince of Persia (no extra title) shows they also felt they were doing something wrong. Then again i heard the combat sucks (like i expected). I think it's also a little weird You can't game over. I'll give it a try if i can, if i can't then i just don't know.
BTW if any of You haven't tried Sands Of Time, in my opinion the best 3d translation of Prince of Persia yet, then i want You to be aware You can download it for free (legally).
Single player multi-plat games, or games with no meaningful online components, always go to my PS3, unless of course its tragically inferior due to technical problems..otherwise it goes to the xbox360.

How do the prince of persia games control on teh PC? I want to buy it because it's less expensive, but I'm afraid the precise platforming controls won't translate well to the amount of keys that the PC uses. Same issue I'm having with Mirrors Edge and what platform I should buy that for when I get the money.

I think I remember Sands of Time worked with like one controller that was not the 360 one.
no way in hell I'm getting prince of persia. Ubisoft are the worst out there and it looks mediocre only game they're making this gen that I have any interest in is beyond good and evil 2

The other Prince of Persia games, as well as Assassin's Creed and Mirror's Edge, controlled just fine on the PC. Fighting in Prince of Persia feels a little odd at first with all the keys, but you get used to it quicker than you might expect, and the precision jumping and looking around work just fine with the mouse.
