When Namco made Dead to Rights, I was pissed I didn't own an Xbox at the time...(but settled for the Gamecube version...)   And this leads to my point. It's Namco we're talking about...I bet this game is being developed on monitors and TVs that say Sony on them...

Didn't Namco do Xenosaga? That was an alright JRPG...I enjoyed it. Really people, Namco is Namgod...Glad to see them reaching out into other platforms...

Never been a big fan of Cel Shading.  You can oooh and aaaah over graphics all you want, but what makes a Rpg great is a well written story/dialogue, characters and gameplay.  Though playing Suikoden V after FF12 was a little painful...  But both were beautifully written compared to Enchant Arms, heh.

looks like a good RPG but will it save 360 in Japan?, I'm not too sure about that but it will give the 360 a good boost for a few weeks

Looks awesome. The only 360 game I'm interested in. Not enough to make me buy the console, but it looks absolutely beautiful.

It looks good indeed, I really love the colorful artstyle. But I really hope it gets a deep emotional storyline. There are too many RPG's that look good but are so dull to play because the story doesn't capture you.

I sort of see what you mean, but Nintendo never said the next Zelda would look like that. Everybody just insinuated that's what the next Zelda would look like. Now don't get me wrong, I plan on buying the game cause it is right up my alley. I just think Windwaker got criticized more than it should have for its' art style.

You're kind of missing some things:

1. This has no where near the following of a Zelda title, nor does it have the expectations of a Zelda title.
2. Eternal Sonata has always looked like this, unlike Zelda, which there was a period of time people expected one thing and then were surprised shortly there after.

Ok I do see your points. Now changing the topic a little, why do I get the feeling that, if this game was on the wii, it would be bashed for its kiddy and colorful art style and probably passed on, but since it is on 360 the art style looks great. Of course I don't know that this would happen for sure, but with the kiddy argument flying around here everyday about Nintendo, there is a good chance it would. I guess it's just the fanboys talking. Don't think I'm trying to be an ***. I'm just trying to have a good discussion since this place lacks it about 99% of the time.

same, although i probably wouldn't play it ... namco isn't exactly known for their fabulous rpg skills.

Tales of Symphonia was awesome....

And Xenosaga... although Namco only published.

Ugh, I could just never manage to get into JRPG's, God knows I've tried. I'm happy for the people interested in the genre and this game but Jesus..... I'd give 5 bucks to not play it.

I think this whole concept of "kiddie" is only instilled in newb gamers who think PS1 was the first console in existance, and before that, people rode around on dinosaurs lol Every game pre-PS1 was "kiddy", it had to be. It was all sprites. So everything had a cartoon look to it. Mortal Kombat didnt, but that's all I can really think of that didnt. So the art styles (had they been able to do more realistic 3D graphics at that time) of Final Fantasy 6 (best in the series IMO) or Chrono Trigger (best RPG imo) would have been "kiddie". But when they're sprites, you seem to forgive that and focus on the story. I think people need to realize there aren't really "kiddy" RPG games. I mean even super mario RPG on snes wasn't all that kiddy as it had tons of depth and quite a bit of story.

I own just about every PS2 RPG worth touching, and I will say with 100% confidence that the graphics found in Eternal Sonata could not be done even remotely close by the PS2.

Have you seen star galaxy? This game looks alot like that game, but a bit better (polygon counts).

Star "Galaxy"? No. For some reason I have a feeling you're talking about Star Ocean though, and they look some what similar (especially the male protagonist), but the actual prowess isn't even close.

Side note the makers of Star Ocean are making Infinite Undiscovery for the Xbox 360.

Oops. I made a mistake. I mean't to type Rogue Galaxy. Not star galaxy. :P

But yeah. Have you sen Rogue Galaxy?

Yup own that as well, my response is kind of the same though for either. I love Level 5's Rogue Galaxy, and tri-Ace's Star Ocean 3. Both wonderful PS2 RPGs, but neither as graphically prowessed as Eternal Sonata.

It does look sweet but my only and quite big flaw with the game is the lip syncing,it's dam right terrible and annoying to watch!

I hope they fix this for the English version,but i highly doubt that.
