As an avid PC gamer and modern warfare addict I was, needless to say, psyched about MW2. But we as PC gamers have received blow after blow to our beloved style of online multiplayer. No dedicated servers was without a doubt the hardest blow but the news that the game would only support 9 Vs 9 player matches was the last straw for me. I shall officialy be saving my 60 dollars and I am curious as to the number of other PC gamers in SW who feel the same way. Leave your John Hancock and thoughts.

I'm not getting it. I'll just stick with Call of Duty 4. I'll put that $60 towards my 5870 HD fund.

I'm not going to bother with it. The price hike and lack of dedicated servers are going to make MW2 a non-starter on the PC. And I don't play shooters on consoles.

Or maybe they pirate because the devs get lazy and greedy.

MW2 at this point isn't worth anything other than maybe a bittorrent download for the single player campaign.

Without dedicated servers, the multiplayer is going to be a lagfest.

It doesn't matter to me, I usually always buy used or trade games with someone.

NEver intended to, I did not like MW1 so never had MW2 in my sights.

That said the online gimping they did would turn me off badly, if I were interrested...

They totally borked the multiplayer on the PC, so now the game will be pirated to hell and back. Infinity Ward brought this on themselves.

I'm not an elitist. I use my Xbox as much as my PC. I'm just saying that most people on this site act like they know everything about everything when they're really blinded by fanboyism. I'm not saying this applies to you or anyone in particurlar, but I've noticed that this is a growing trend.

That they did. And truthfully, I think they deserve it. They screwed us on this and deserve to face the consequences.

But an awe-inspiring singleplayer. Sad that people actually think that stealing it is a good idea. Same goes to all pirates, PC pirates, 360 pirates, PSP pirates. Someone needs to make it stop.

I was going to preorder MW2, but then IW dropped the news that there wouldn't be any dedicated servers or mods. Half the mp I play is modded or on custom maps, and I'm sure as hell not going to stick with 18 player limits or ping issues.

I took the money and used it to preorder Dragon Age instead. It's decrypting now :D

The mods is what made me want to cancel my pre-order. No dedicated servers made me cancel my pre-order. 18 player limit made me decide not to buy it.

Of course not. But, when they take away almost everything that makes their games good, then they do sort of deserve to flop. Personally, I think it'd be best for PC and Call of Duty to part ways if this continues.

I am a PC gamer, but I never planned on buying Modern Warfare 2 in the first place. I'm glad I tried the demo on PC and the full version on 360 of CoD4 before I bought it... because that would have been a waste of money.

Not true. RPGs have a long lasting value without MP. Look at The Elder Scrolls series. Which, I might add, is so great thanks to it's phenominal modding commuinty.

Only thing keeping me from a day one purchase is Dragon Age Origins.

I thought both PC and Console versions got torn down, with the PC losing dedicated servers, mods, and player cap shortened with the console version having its party chat partially limited. We aren't each other's enemy.

However, I am waiting for the first week sales to appear. After that, I won't care about anything MW2 related.

That's because Blizzard hired a hypnotist to design World of Warcraft, so that anyone with a weak mind and open wallet would be drawn into the game. And singleplayer RPGs don't last for a day or two unless you play 24/7.

I know you didn't intentionally start it. Most of the threads about PC gamers and MW2 start off legitimate, but end up with one of the consolites claiming "omg, we can't hack anymore". Also, you are right about the attitude of some people here. I think everyone, or the people that still plan to purchase MW2, should at least know how big of a blow the PC version is to the PC gamers.

I wish we could find a way to show them. With each thing they announced, my heart sank. A lot of PC gamers are devestated at the loss of many features. It would be like Gears of War 3 not having a cover system, not having the Lancer Assault Rifle, and only supporting 8 players. Or Killzone 3 not having the Helghast, having no multiplayer what-so-ever, and is only two hours long.

I'm not going to get this game...ever...

Cancelled my pre-order after reading the log of the developer chat. It seems more of a console port now than ever before. I still know people getting it who aren't fanboys so if they tell me the multiplayer and such is good enough, I may reconsider buying it.

I was once an avid Call of Duty fan when the original came out. I loved UO, I loved CoD2 and I loved CoD 4, but I cannot bring myself to purchase MW2. I have to draw a line somewhere. I have a feeling that Activision is going to put a spin on the bad sales the PC version will get and cry piracy.

I hated COD4, so I was never going to buy MW2.
