Hi everyone,

We hope you had a great New Year’s!

As we enter into 2016, we want to provide you with an update on Scalebound, the upcoming Xbox One-exclusive action-RPG that lets you fight alongside a fearsome dragon named Thuban.

Development on the game is going well and we’re really happy with how it’s coming together. Scalebound is one of the biggest games PlatinumGames has ever created: an epic adventure filled with exploration and fantasy gameplay, inventive multiplayer, and action-packed battles on an unbelievable scale – all set in a beautiful and evolving world. It’s the game our team has always dreamed of making.

In order to deliver on our ambitious vision and ensure that Scalebound lives up to expectations, we will be launching the game in 2017. This will give us the time needed to bring to life all the innovative features and thrilling gameplay experiences that we have planned.

We know you’re excited to see more and thank you for your patience. Scalebound is a truly special project that’s been several years in the making, and we are very proud and inspired by all the work our team has done so far.

We will be sharing more about our vision for Scalebound later this year and can’t wait to give you a closer look at the world of Draconis and the incredible creatures and experiences we’re building.

Shame they have to delay it, but hey, if it means they can properly implement their own vision it'll be worth it! Platinum has yet to disappoint with their big scale projects!

My most anticipated X1 game so I can't say it doesn't sting a little, but I'd rather have a good game on release, so take the time you need.

Anywho, it's cool, the lineup is so stacked for 2016 as it is plus I'd look for ReCore to be delayed to 2017 as well.

2016 for Xbox One sucks even more now. We have Quantum Break, Gears 4, Forza 8 and that's it? I hope MS buy time exclusivity with Madden 2017 or Rainbow Six like they did with RotTR.

Better delayed and more polished than rushed and crap I suppose.

Pretty thin line up of exclusives for 2016 there Xbox One.

Well, if anything was going to make me get a Bone, it would be Scalebound. Guess I have another year to hate on the console relentlessly, now.

Wouldnt be surprised, but I think that, at this point in time, its really Sony's best weapon for the Holiday. So who knows.

This was one of my most anticipated games of the year, so damn. Damn it all!

Oh well, at the end I'd rather Kamiya take his time in fulfilling his vision.

I bet Recore is also 2017 considering little is known about the game and probably crackdown to,leaving lemmings with nothing but,Gears,Forza mery go round again + Quantum Break.

This year will be a sad one for lemms even sadder than 2015.

Womp womp. A couple days into the new year and we already have a notable exclusive delaying Til next year. I'm so sick of the delay era of game development.

I guess they deserve some credit for being honest about the situation. I'll take an honest and timely delay notification over hiding it for months to announce the delay with much fanfare months from now at some stage show.

Impossible, everyone knows PS4 has no gamezzzz. :P

Lucky break for Playstation fans, Scalebound alone would of obliterated Horizon and the rest of Sony's piss poor lineup.

Even without Scalebound the XB1 2016 lineup is light years ahead of the PS4. Can't wait to laugh when Uncharted and Horizon flop and Last Vaporware gets delayed until 2025

With Crackdown 3, Halo Wars 2, Fable Legends, Gears of War 4, and Quantum Break coming this year, it's probably best this game is delayed til next year anyways to keep the exclusive momentum going. Recore and Sea of Thieves could easily end up as 2017 releases too.

Crackdown 3 and Fable Legends probably won't make 2016 either since only their betas have 2016 dates right now. It's probably for the best to space out the lineup since their 2017 was looking empty with no major 1st party studios capable of releasing a game that year except for Turn 10.

Maybe now it will run better than 10fps. That gameplay footage they showed a few months back was really rough.

Crackdown 3 will apparently release it's MP portion this year, according to this here post by Microsoft.
