Microtransactions.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-08-22-xbox-one-launch-title-ryse-has-microtransactions

"Players will upgrade their multiplayer characters via blind booster packs of armour upgrades, bought via in-game coins.

You'll accumulate this currency naturally, but can pay for more with real-world money,"

Good work MS starting the generation as I persum they mean to carry it on.

I can think of one diffrence.

Planetside 2 costs £0.00 to buy.

Ryse costs £50.00 to buy.

Really you are trying to justify microtransactions in a £50 game.

lots of games have micro transactions. Just like games have DLC.  You get a hard on for exclussive DLC for games that you already paid for.  It's the same thing.  You don't have to purchase these things with money you could earn them with in game currency if you wanted.   Game developers are moving towards micro transactions to make money.  This aint no secrete and isn't a Microsoft thing stupid.  It's an industry thing. Just like game developers moved to DLC this gen to generate money.   You fanboys are just to stupid to realize industry trends.

Micro-transaction and DLC are entirely different.

They both suck money out of the consumer though. Unless the game is F2P I think micro-transactions = pure greed, but the real fault is the people encouraging it by buying.

It really depends on the business practice. No one would complain if a DLC is planned after the game released and improve the games in meaningful ways (aka. more content). The improvements are equally applied to anyone and not depending on how much real money was spent.

Microtransaction on the other hand, is pay to win, sure things might be achievable without spending a dime, but no company is good enough to let that happen. The model is introduced and served a purpose, that is to squeeze more money even after you've paid full price for the game, and they will try their best to make it works.

Microtransactions.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-08-22-xbox-one-launch-title-ryse-has-microtransactions

Good work MS starting the generation as I persum they mean to carry it on.

When Bioware did this wth ME3 multiplayer, cows said nothing. MS does the same thing with an exclusive "OMG! M$ is ripping you off!"

What-the-f*ck-ever. The more I surf through system wars, the more I begin to realize the insecurity of cows. "Oh, please everybody! Please buy a PS4! We don't want to lose another gen!:cry::cry: Please! "

Because the game reminds me of the Starz TV show Sparticus, which I loved.

Don't like Ryse? Don't buy it.

But, ME3 (on the PS3), has the ability for users to buy those "weapon and aid" boxes for a buck. That is what is in Ryse.

It is the exact same thing.

......lolooolollol PSN: Sony can't dictate to other companies what is allowed on Sony Networks, Sony just wants everyone to have fun and for everything to be free. XBL: Microsoft rules their networks with an Iron fist and dictates every aspect that is allowed, There is nothing free on XBL and MS welcomes any game that poffers microtransactions. lollolol

Buy an xbone on launch: 499$

Buy Ryse on launch (a game in which the design director said that failing a QTE was simply "too hardcore): 60$

1 months worth of online play (in 2013 i might add): 10$

Extra equipment (which is completely randomized, and might not even give you what you want) available as IAP's.

I am by no way condoning ME3's multiplayer and microtransactions but how can you NOT see this game is going to be a piece of trash?

well the difference between ME3 (PS3 case) and Ryse is that ME3 is a third party game while Ryse is Xbox 1 exclusive. Also ME3s online is free on PS3, Ryse online on the other hand is already locked on a paywall.

Easy. It reminds me of that Starz show Sparticus. I have Ryse pre-ordered. I have seen the demos, read the previews, and I have not waivered once from my opinion of the game.

Honestly, most of this "anti-Ryse" crap I read on SW sounds like cow jelly to me.

Optional so umm, don't buy aaaand, Fixed.

But thats the problem. People can literally pay to win. Sure, I can be the sane minded guy, who takes his time to earn everythig, but Richie Rich over here can just pay and get everything and ROFLSTOMP me in multiplayer.

tehe, life's just not fair..

But anyway TBH, I'm on the fence with this game and will wait for reviews also, not sure if it even has MP?

[QUOTE="sts106mat"]so many butthurt sony fansramonnl

They will also charge you 15 euro for dlc content
While we get free dlc maps for killzone, have fun.

Sort of like I got all ten Spartan ops episodes free on halo 4. Spare me the ownage attempts folks. Nobody has to pay for this stuff and if they choose to its their fvckin money! Sony and Nintendo are just corporations out to make money as well. Nobody HAS to give these companies money. Nobody has to game.
