Rumors contradicting rumors, I know. Good news for gamers if true, since this has a bit of a cult following.

To make it system warsy, OH NOES SHEEP LOSE (Never had?) AN EXCLUSIVE TO THE TWINS! Not a good day for Nintendo warriors after the Andromeda news.

It's a timed exclusive for one year, your title is a tad misleading.

But anyway, this is good news. The more people get to play BG&E2, the better.

This game being made for the Switch is equivalent to it being made for the 360, which is very limiting.

That's good news and is another incentive to get a Switch and is good for owners of other platforms in the long run. I want to see more stuff like this to attract third party developers and consumers.

I think there was some concern that Nintendo might have pulled a Bayonetta 2 style deal where they paid for a lot of it, otherwise it wouldn't have been made.

Given the last game's plot and the political climate, it may be in all the wrong ways.

If the rumors are true, makes me wonder if Ubisoft saw Bayonetta 2 and went "Yeah no! Don't want that."

Again, its another believe when I see it scenarios. They have been chucking BG&E2 around in the rumor mill for a while now, but im optimistic that it will be announced on the 12th. If not then, I dont think its ever coming. Surprised that its only timed, but at the same time its ubisoft, I imagine its going to pc too for uplay

This could be a pretty solid move for pushing the Switch. BG&E2 seems to have a lot of hype around it.

This is actually bad news if Switch is the lead platform. That means the potential for the other versions will not be fully realized as they will be held back due to the core design of the game revolving around the hardware constraints of the Switch.

@BassMan:

As long as the game is as well designed as the original, I don't mind.

Graphics are one thing but I really want them to nail the gameplay.

If this rumour is true, I will give credit to Nintendo for doing something I said they needed to. Take a hit financially to sway the third party's fears. Put the risk on Nintendo's shoulders. That's what they're going to have to do.

Problem: Third party developers are skeptical about Nintendo. Their games don't even sell on their consoles. Solution: Take the risk, use your substantial wealth to bring them on board. They may lose on this game, but the perception of their console being a wasteland wont be so strong and people may actually buy one, which is far more cost effective than having a weak library.

Perhaps too little too late. Should have been doing it years ago, but that is what it is.

I agree that the gameplay is most important. However, the graphics, scale/scope of the game, and performance are all influenced by the hardware. Those are all key aspects of the overall quality of the game.

@BassMan: Its just gimmicks. The art is the most important. Ive seen people brag about a games graphics, than i play the game and im like, omg this tree is fackin ugly. And the trees were even used to complaint the game, they were just thrown into the game like a monkey throwing shat on a wall.

One problem is the financial, the other that cannot be solved is the hardware. That is the one Nintendo cannot escape with money.

@Pedro: That is very very true. I'm just letting them off on this one because that's one thing they should have been doing, along with providing good up to date hardware that will ensure games don't need to be gimped to bring across.

@BassMan

Performance yes but I'm skeptical when it comes to scale. The original game had a neatly defined hub world and dungeon like levels which a system as powerful as Switch could easily pull off. The structure of the original game and it's stripped back scale is one of the great design choices it has going for it.

I'm all for creative ideas and experimenting with the structure but I rather it didn't have the scale of a modern open world game. Especially not from Ubisoft who I don't typically like when approaching openworld design,though not sure which studio is working on this yet.

No, I'd rather they keep it reasonably scaled and cohesive designed. Use that power for performance.

I am very excited for this game, i hope it delivers.

I don't want my fellow SW brethren to be denied the chance to play it, even the silly cows and lems.

Let's hope it hits all platforms!

I can probably pass for a year just to play it on the XB1. Give us a proper western exclusive tailored to the Switch and I'll consider it. I wish EA would work on a versions of Hitz and Blitz for Switch but drop the NFL and NHL sports licensing and just use Nintendo characters like a Strikers game or Mario Golf or Allstars Power Baseball or Mario Tennis. EA itself could get the benefit of using Nintendo characters and setting while not having to shell out countless millions to license the leagues, the teams, the players, etc. That would give the Switch something unique and not just something people can play on any console.
