Res2 MP or Gears2 MP?

i have yet to play both so...

am having a hard time reading the sticky .....

so, those who have bought/played said games, how was your online/multiplayer experience?

and for those who have HONESTLY played BOTH, which has a much more "fulfilling" experience?

to gears2 players, aside from horde, are the other mp options of the game as fun as you expected it to be?

*oh! and does horde mode seem like an FPS version of Warcraft III hero siege mode?

i heard someone say this, but i doubt if he actually played the game.

Yeah, I am series 8). Also, I never mentioned Gears in that post. Both are great games with minor pros and cons over the other.

As long as Resistance 2 manages to keep a steady framerate above 21fps and isn't laggy it's automatically superior to Gears of War 2.

I haven`t tried R2 yet so i can`t give u a good answer but from the gameplay videos R2 looks like a massive cluster-$%&#! On top of that, cows can`t seem to understand the importance of a mic = 60 headless chickens shooting wildly.

Well, I never really liked multiplayer in Gears much, so it's obviously R2 for me. However, I do think the mutliplayer has been significantly improved in Gears 2. Horde is awesome :D

You don't have to play 60 players. You can just play with less players if that's what you prefer. It's nice with a bit of variety.

Also, mics really aren't that important. People have been playing games for years without mics and have been doing just fine Sure, if you're going to play a clan match or something, mics are very important. Normally you'll do just fine without a mic though.

I'm a little bit bias since I don't really like the Gears style of one life per round. I think it's an inflexible system that doesn't allow for any mistakes or messing around since it could end in you watching for a few minutes.

Resistance has chaotically-organized multiplayer (yeah, weird, I know). The XP system in Resistance makes it extremely addictive and you constantly want to be unlocking new gear, weapons and levels. Resistance has some of the best co-op I have ever played, it's truly one of the best reasons to pick up the game. It's tactical, intense and damn fun.

That being said, Gears does have Horde mode which is superb. There's nothing like getting your buddy into a room and fending off against some nasty Locust. It's a bloody, fantastic mess. :)

I personally would say Resistance only because I enjoy both the competitive and the co-op. In Gears I can only said I really enjoy the co-op aspects of the multiplayer.

i can see you never played R2 online, the online 60 player is lag free, and its not a mess at all. the Co-op is some of the best, the game forces you to work as a team or the AI just kicks you butt in a matter of seconds. THe AI will come after you and smack you with their gun as if it was a human player.

Its just insane. It shouldnt work but somehow it just does. Grenades going everywhere, people on roofs using grenade launchers on the assault rifle, its madness. If you dont work as a team you just die, so everyone sticks toghether :P

If 8 of my friends were stupid enough to waste money on R2 it'd be an engaging team experience.

I don't have any many friends on 360 :P but still i manage to find random people on Gears 1 & 2 who like a good team shooter.

You'd be lucky to get someone on PSN who isn't: 1) AFK 2) mic spluttering 3) a drone w/o a mic at all.

Resistance 2 multiplayer is just downright fun. GeoW 2 is Ok, but if you've played the first, expect a lesser experiance. Rafinator

Gameplay wise Resistance 2 is better IMO, but chainsawing somebody in Gears never gets old :)

60 player lag free indeed but it IS a mess. coop is fun but the A.I is mediocre the only reason you need team work is coz of the 100000 enemies charging at you and you need plenty of ammo to kill those big enemies that sometimes stand still staring at you and you + 7 of ur team mates spend 15 minutes trying to kill it

Wow you are funny. Resistance 2 has great enemy A.I and EVEN FRIENDLY A.I is good.

Skirmish mode is a blast not a mess. Stop assuming its a mess when you havent even played it. Teams are split up into squads of 5 and the squads are given new objectives depending on the situation around you. Its actually great and works really nicely. So stop the damage control.

i gonna have to agree, 60 people just gets to chaotic, so many people , alot of the time you die you dont even know where it came from. 8 players work great for gears, real tight gameplay 5 player teams, and because you can revive allies it has more of a team feel.

resistance 2 is really fun thoguh, but gears feels way more competitive.

R2 - log on have alota fun.

geo2- log on and show off your skills "some people on gears takes that jank seriously, maybe to seriously, if youve ever played counter-strike, halo 2, it has that type of feeling.

Yea sure, you will not waste money on Resistance 2, but you and your iota of friends will spend 50$ a year on Xbox live. Lol, what is mic spluttering? And.. nobody is really AFK...:|.

I bought both and played both plus I have proof by showing my gamertags and id so I'm just not babling like some other folks who only played and bought one of the games, Gears 2 is overall the better game.
