Before that, I also used to remember "Wii won't get an 9.5, AT ALL". It's funny how we're here with 2 today.

And again, I can already see people saying "Wii will go downhill from here" and the glorious "No more 9.5s from here, 4 REALZ THIS TIME GUYS!!!"

I can remember someone saying the amazing quote yesterday: "All anti-Wii arguements are tarnished by time". :bow: to whoever said that.

Honestly, there were skeptics from every side. I expected AAA, but certainly not 9.5, I'm sure a lot of sheep doubted its AAA status due to GS's history with the Smash Bros series. Still, you'd have to be a blind fanboy to think the Wii wouldn't get another 9.5 after SMG.glitchgeeman

What I find is amusing is though, it's the SAME damage control, and mostly from the SAME people, who are proven wrong, time and time again.

I believe the hype thread was AAA. But yeah you do have a point. Anti-Nintendo fanboys said it wouldnt get AAA because it wouldnt deserve it and Nintendo fanboys hyped it AA as a pre-launch damage control.

I don't have a specific link, but when SMG came out, one of the most prominent forms of damage control was usually a comment along the lines of, "Enjoy your SMG now, because that's the only decent game Sheep will have for the rest of the Wii's lifetime."

You could probably find a bunch if you really wanted to by digging up the old official SMG review thread.

so far from what we have seen i would be surprised if it got AA. Its an arcade racer not particularly valued in the industry besides the consumers who absolutely love it.

There always extremely fun and totally a system seller but they wont rate well. The visuals are lacking and the online is not as exstensive as we thought. Still it will be loads of fun.

You have to decide between either playing with friends or seperately playing with random people. You cant join up with some friends then go against random people. No LAN is a damn shame being that MK DD and it would be very convenient on Wii.

well the visuals arent terrible but if you look at Brawl and SMG its kinda of a let down to see how little its improved over MK DD. It should look more like MK on the arcade.

if they delayed it they could do alot of work with it and give some room for those third party games Nintendo fans are too foolish to pay attention to.

well the visuals arent terrible but if you look at Brawl and SMG its kinda of a let down to see how little its improved over MK DD. It should look more like MK on the arcade.

No offense, but the game has had 12 perfect reviews, counting famitsu, and has an average rating of over 9.5.

You've never played Brawl, and are just upset with the 9.5 score(which gamespot also gave it) because your a Nintendo hater, and wanted Brawl to be written off as a GotY contender, and wanted to say there are better games out this gen on your system.

Well, there aren't. Gamespot owned fanboys, to be honest, and I think its great.

Anyone who says a difference of .5 from what they would begrudgingly give the game is "a joke" obviously has no business reviewing anything.

It's normal to be a little sceptical about GS reviews. There's a difference between that, and knowing it will be an awesome game either way.

It got a 9.5 from IGN and Gamespot, and has an average ratio of 9.6. If we're not going by metacritic, gamerankings, gamespot, IGN, Xplay, or Famitsu, how are we supposed to rate the game? How can you be skeptical about the gamespot review when its dead in the middle, or actually, much lower than the average review(since the game has many more 7 10's than 3 9's.)
