Ratchet and Clank will have similar graphics modes as Miles Morales

For all you graphics whores out there, which one will you choose? 🙂 With Miles Morales, I switched between fidelity and performance but ultimately stuck with performance.

Performance will be the sweet spot for this $70 banger. Insomniac is proving to be a hell of a purchase for Sony.

That’s cool. I really like the idea of developers making different options like this for console games allowing for users to tailor the experience that they prefer.

RT drops the resolution all the way down to 1080p? How is RE8 using RT then?

Capcom's engine is as last gen as it gets. In some places, with maxed out textures, it reminded me of Dark Souls. Ratchet looks way better in every way possible.

Performance sounds good.

I'm glad Ratchet & Clank (2016) got a 60fps mode too, totally out of the blue.

That only leaves Horizon & Uncharted getting performance modes.

Dynamic 4k could be anything.

I might go with 4K/30fps/Ray Tracing. Have to try Performance/60fps as well see which one is more enjoyable.

That's pretty awesome! A 1080p60 mode with ray tracing would always be my mode of choice. Hope more devs aim at this.

@hardwenzen: Of course i would prefer a higher resolution (i have a pretty big 4k screen), but it's all about priorities. Given the choice: performance > graphics > resolution. I would not accept anything under 1080p, though.

Likely 1080p? Spiderman got dynamic 1440p and it looked good enough considering the framerate and RT reflections. Their temporal injection thingamajig is pretty great.

Xbox can't take another game coming out for the ps5 its almost completely over at this point

That's right, you only have access to the sub30fps/no ssd/540-720p mode🤔Massive sacrifice for portability. Absolutely massive.

If it's similar to MM, then probably Fidelity. I've tried both versions. I know performance should fee/play at lot better since it's double the frame rate, but I have a hard time noticing it while playing.

1440p would be a good compromise. Better than any of these other compromises, anyway.

Consoles are so lame. No 1440p support. No graphics options. Sony must think their users are either idiots or children.

Depends on the RT implementation for me. Will try 1080p/60, if the RT is nothing special will change to dynamic res without it. These options suck.

Lemmings are gonna be walking off a cliff once this launches the games not up my alley but thats like 4 AAA games for PS5 now.

They are busy blaming Co-Vid yet sony is launching all these games its their own fault for not putting out halo inf on time.

.....what the fucc do you care about a GS review? If it got a 10, would that enhance your experience? Would you suddenly feel depressed if it got a 7? My god, the game looks cool (not70 dollars cool, but that's just me), enjoy it.

Turns out Performance RT is 1440p60, so that's the best way to play.

Going to play at 4k 30 has fps is the most overrated annoying thing in gaming. I can't tell the difference in 30 and 60 and I think most people can't either and wouldn't know if not told what a game is running at and it's more just something people us to show how strong there console/pc is.

Sounds like the best of both worlds: great graphics, ray tracing AND 60fps

I have played games that are 30 and 60 I have tried both in the same game and dont fell or see a difference at all. I have seen videos comparing a game running at 30 and 60 and I dont see a difference and I believe no matter what people say most people cant tell the difference because I have seen people complaining about frame rate when a game has been confirmed to be 60 fps with out drops or people thinking a game is 60 when its 30 or thinking its 30 when its 60. If you showed side by side on the same tvs a game running at 30 and a game running at 60 I believe like 90% wouldn't be able to tell what one each one is.

Its just a crazy overrated thing is all. The only time I have noticed a difference is like the video with 2 circles and one is moving at 60 and one at 30 and even then its a small difference.

Or... you need to get your eyes checked. I don't know why you're assuming that your experience must be what "90%" of the population experiences.

He isn't wrong, tho. Frames and resolution are in the same basket. For example, i was never for the life of me, able to see any distinguishable differences between 1080p and 4k. Its just not a thing i can do. I did hear that folks that wear glasses, can see the pixels better (pixels are enlarged like under a microscope), so they might see the actual difference, but i can't, and i don't care.

So he's right then, both of you need to see an optometrist.

But if the pixels aren't enlarged like under a microscope, what is the point?

4k does look better and more detailed but I have never been able to like see individual pixels.
