Maybe it's just me, but almost every 2d game I think of off the top of my head was completely ruined (IMO) when it went 3D: Legend of Zelda, Mario, Super Metroid, Castlevania, Mega Man, Mario Kart, The Sim series. Maybe I'm just being nostalgic.

Do people never really get the idea of a joke? They're doing this intentionally, because they know it isn't going to happen.

Do you seriously think they're just going to announce these games like that? They wouldn't, and in all likelyness, this is a humurous jab at the people who want these titles so much.

I guess you missed the part where I said "IN MY OPINION", clearly bolding it intentionally so I didn't upset the fans, but anyways, I thought the 3d iterations were subpar compared to the earlier 2d released on the NES/SNES.

Lack of a proper perfect dark makes me sad :(

I'm expecting one in 09, maybe Killer Instinct. The new Battletoads game on XBLA and maybe Jetforce Gemini late 09/early 10.

Also didn't they say they had plans on PD2 and a new Conker game? Personally I think those games deserves a sequel more than Ghoulies. And if they are going the same path Killer Instinct will probably be a puzzel game, Jet Force Gemini a life simulator, Ghoulies 2 an RTS and Battletoads a FPS.

That's nice, I think differently then you. I know, it's shocking.

And IMO the only great 2D zelda was A link to the past. Zelda 1 was a good game but nothing amazing and Zelda 2 was awful.

It really wasn't a shooter-centric game...I think. It's been a while. You used guns to kill the evil ant race, but it has just as much platforming as it did shooting.

I just looked some videos up and it looked like fun. The whole 3rd person shooter view coupled with lock on and a multitude of weapons surprised me for an N64 game AND there wasnt any slowdown or fram rate drops.Gh0st_Of_0nyx

The boldedgames, I completely agree, I wish Nintendo had let Samus die in her glory days especially.  The unbolded, I would say are about equal in 2D vs 3D, although A link to the Past was the best Zelda IMO.

No, all it is, is a way to stir the pot. We got people like the TC saying it's true, but then we got people like you saying it's all a hoax. Rare knew that both things would be said and they planned for all this to happen. They're getting our hopes up, but at the same time allowing for some sceptisism, so that people keep their eye on them. Those games may or may not be in development, we won't know until they announce them.

Sure however they don't want to just make a rehash so they will make the new Battle Toads a flight simulator game and Killer Instinct will be a platformer. Javy03
