RAGE 2 prediction thread. What score do you think it will get? [UPDATE: GS score 6/10]

• Publisher: Bethesda (egads!)
• Developer: Avalanche Studios (Just Cause, Mad Max), and id Software

Review embargo for RAGE 2 will be lifting any day now. What do you think it will get on Gamespot and Metacritic? Are you excited for the game?

For reference, RAGE 1 released on October 3rd, 2011. It got a 79, 81, 81 on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 respectively.

As for me, I need to wait for the reviews on this one. Because, while Avalanche has nice visuals in their games, I still think they need more substance and structure to them. They're an okay developer imo, the kind where I would wait for a sale for their games. But maybe they will truly shine in this partnership with id Software this time, who knows.

My prediction: 7/10 on Gamespot, around 75 on Metacritic

Whatever Rage 1 got, 1 point above maybe.

8 on GS. Low 80's on MC.

I imagine 80% average or so.

My hunch is that positives will be solid gameplay, neat environments, cool weapons and enemies, and fun activities; while negatives will be unoriginal, boring world, and ho-hum campaign.

In short, fun and high quality, but nothing special.

4 on GS, just so i can see ghost make a thread whinging about the score. Should be fun like the Days Gone thread cows have on the front page right now crying all over the place lol.

Probably an 8 here and low 80’s overall.

Around 7/10 I reckon... then Ghosts will come on here and tell everyone it's the best game of all time. Lmao.

Whatever their opinion deems it as.

I could care less what the reviewers say about this game. Like Crackdown 3 it will be a fun game and better than the reviewers give it.

I'll go with an 8 for gamespot.

They rarely give out 9's or 10's unless the game is just outstanding in every way.

I am shocked the first game got the high scores it did. That game was awful trash.

This looks much better than the first game, but I think reviewers will give it the same scores as the first game but this time it will earn that 7.5/10.

The first game was like a 4/10 at best. Truly awful.

Who the **** asked for more Rage? You know fun things exist right?

9/10 considering Far Cry 5 and The Division 2 got a 9 score here.

This game is a 9. Huge, gorgeous,diverse world with a lot of tools to play with and good gunplay.

Launch trailer is out. and watch till the end.

if crap like far cry 5 get 9. this should get 10/10.

i mean far cry 5 is mediocre 5/10 game. while Rage 2 looks like great 8/10 game.

8.4 seems like a safe bet.

That does seem like some great praise at the end. IGN and others did mention they are working on their reviews right now, but they can't release them until May 13th -- one day from release.

Not sure if that's a worrying sign or it means nothing

Nope... not a reviewer. But I saw hours of it at Bethesda Game Days event. Game looks like minty 9.

I think th technical achievements will get this game an 8, though I find it severely lacking on gameplay side from what I have seen, gunplay looks weak, maybe if it doesn't thrill much then at least a 7.

Better than people are expecting, but still very much a middling game in the long run.

I predict an 8 it looks fun from what I've seen.

Every FPS game with Bethesda involved this gen has been pretty good. 8.5/9

Thinking on it again yes this is the most 8 game I've ever seen.
