Pyre gets 86 on MC, from Supergiant Games (Bastion, Transistor) on PC/PS4

It is on PS4 and PC. Not on Xbox One.

Anyone playing this game? Is it good?

I liked Bastion and Transistor so I might like this, keeping an eye on it. It's stylish as the other games which I like but I'm not so sure about the multiplayer.

You don't need to say it's not on Xbox One, it shows your fanboy agenda. Especially when you don't point out that it is also not on the Switch or Wii U. I didn't like Transistor at all, so no hype from me.

@me2002: I thought it was boring. I didn't like the shallow combat. I kinda have the same issue with Bastion. I got the remake version for free on my X1 because I had Bastion on the 360. I tried playing it, and it was ok. But it didn't keep my attention long at all. I just don't think Supergiant games is for me.

This game doesn't quite have my attention like Transistor did. I played through Bastion 4-5 times between 360 and X1. Naturally, I was quite hyped for Transistor. Played through that a few times on PS4 and PC. While I'm glad Pyre is departing a bit from Bastion/Transistor, it just doesn't look as appealing in terms of game play. Looks great visually though!

I liked both Bastion and Transistor but Transistor was criminaly overpriced for what it was. $20 for 4 hours of gameplay (not kidding, its the time I've on steam) and barely to no replayability is exagerated. The soundtrack and atmosphere were the only exceptional things in the game... like Bastion. I'm interested in Pyre but only when on sale having in mind the previous 2 games

You are not very bright are you. They didn't skip the Xbox because they wanted to, they just didn't want to spread themselves to thin which is a good move for any developer to do.

From the developers mouth:

“We’re a small team of about a dozen people. It’s always been essential that we stay focused and not spread ourselves too thin. While it’d be nice to have our games available for every popular platform right at launch, this would either require us to scale back the ambitions of our games or staff up, and we don’t think either of those things is worth it right now. For our studio it’s worked out well to focus on just one or maybe two platforms at a time and make the best game possible, then see what opportunities there are after that, and we never rule anything out for the future."

The reason small developers are picking PS4 right now because they are the king. If the game does well on PC/PS4 and they are making money I guaranty the Xbox One will get the game. It is the same for Lawbreakers. It is good for a developer to test the waters with their games on the larger markets PC/PS4. If it does well they will make a Switch/Xbox version.

So you can't read and I'm the one who is not very bright lol. Where did I stated the reason they skip it? The thing is that they skipped it period. And you say they didn't want to skip it? Well they have to want to do it, for whatever their reasons but they skipped the Xbox One and not the PS4 so they made a choice. And this is not an isolated case. Go to Metacritic and those games at 75 or above rating, the PS4 has 100 more than the Xbox One, so it is turning into a bit of a pattern. The reason why doesn't matter, the fact is many good developers out there are choosing the PS4 and skipping the X1.

Also lemmings kept saying that Sony was treating indie developers badly while MS was doing good to them. Well this just proves that is BS, if indie devs were feeling badly treated by Sony they wouldn't be choosing them over MS.

Just like Xbox One sharing games with PC is a good thing.

Still waiting for Transistor?

Hmmm, seems to me a lot of the more promising Indies releasing over the next year or so are on Xbox first... for example, Tacoma.

Hmm. Didn't hear about this one. I loved both Bastion and Transistor (Transistor was my favorite), so I'll def check this out. This dev is really, really good at what they do.

I liked Bastion and while Transistor and Pyre look cool they aren't really my kind games that I want to run out and buy when they come out. They are the kind of games that I may play when offered as a freebie for a paid online service. It's not that there's really anything particularly wrong with them but they just aren't my kind of games.

@hrt_rulz01: promising in what way? There PS4 recently got Nex Machina, this one and this coming month Matterfall. All of them AA or AAA.

Neither Transistor or Bastion really grabbed me but i'm enjoying this a good deal so far. It reminds me of The Banner Saga, I think I enjoy the atmosphere of that game more but this seems very well done and the Rites are definitely quite unique and seem fun so far.

@pinkanimal: Did you watch the MS E3 conference? Indie galore. And alot of them looked better and more interesting than anything in PS's conference.

So waht? that doesn't tell us much, like 90% of those indies MS showed on E3 are coming to PS4 too. The numbers don't lie, the E3 presentation is just that, a presentation, the PS4 has more quantity and quality of third party games many of those being indies. Many of the best indie devs are releasing games on PS4 and skipping the Xbox.

@pinkanimal: Lol, entirely subjective. And alot of those Indies on PS4 make their way too Xbox too... ie. Edith Finch.

Still the PS4 has 100 more games 75+ above in Metacritic. That speaks more than an E3 presentation and a game here and there being ported one way or the other. Until the Xbox manages to shrink that gap considerably the pattern seems to show that the PS4 is attracting much more quality + quantity. And it doesn't seem that's going to happen soon by looking at the monthly releases the PS4 gets like 10 games monthly that the Xbox doesn't get while the opposite is like 1 or 2 games.

I have it on both PSN and PC so Im not waiting on it, but i have seen multiple interviews with Greg about Xbox version.
