Ps4 games need internet after all...

I lost internet for 12hrs when i was playing Wow so i thought... what the hell i can start play Dragon Age: Inquisition on Ps4 then...but at the menu i am welcomed by "Connecting to Dragon Age server..."

What the fck is this drm crap EA put in a singleplayer game?!? If i knew this i could just had bought it on PC or not at all.

Is all console games like this or just EA games? it says nothing on the game box that it need internet connection.

So , without internet , you can't play the game at all.?

I can play my Wii U games offline without any issues.

Troll bait title. There are many games that don't require an Internet connection to play on the PS4. This is an EA issue which is not surprising and not a Sony or PS4 issue.

Can you play Dragon Age without an internet connection? Because that would be an mmo/diablo 3 like situation were teh data would be on teh server and not the disc/console.

You are an idiot to try play your singleplayer-games on a console with no internet? I bet you not been trying play the game yourself with no internet connection. It DOES NOT WORK on Dragon Age Inquisition without updated/unlocked it online 1st time you play. I dont know about other Ps4 games since i always have had connection those times

The reason i wanted to play the game was that i lost internet for 12hrs...didnt expect online requirements for it. I been in the illusion of just "put in the disc and play"

@aroxx_ab: of course Sony lied lol when they did that whole marketing thing about online connectivity and game sharing, they were actually just profiting off of Microsofts rough start. People were upset with MS so they just kept telling people that they were the exact opposite xD

But the truth is gaming is headed in an online direction. You get all sorts of pre order bonuses and whatnot that all require you to be online. Sony cannot change what ea wants to do, they can't change what ubi wants to do, if third parties want games having online based features or require them to have connections then it will happen.

Sony lied about everything to everyone, and they even got me to purchase a ps4 earlier than I would've liked. They really have yet to deliver on anything, just like a good old politician.

Not without been connected online with it first, that was the point. Apparently my connection is back so i can play the game now if i want, but it is still bad internet was needed.

I'm pretty sure it's same for the X1 version.

So you're saying that you need to be online inititially, and then afterwards you are fine? Where is this stipulated? Even the PC version can be played using Origin's offline mode.

You still need to be connected first time around, in OP's case this was not possible meaning he could not play his game.

I find that extremely hard to believe. All you have to do is unplug your ether net cable and restart your PS4. Then it wouldn't try to connect to the net in the first place.

Didnt try that, i was stuck in "connecting to dragon age server.."...waited for awhile then i assumed it needed connection and turned off Ps4 and did somethning else.

*edit" i tried unplug net cable now, it still try connect to servers but it go away fast after just few sec and the normal menu shows up and rdy to play. Dont know if it cuz i already have had it online or cuz what you said

If this is true, then I wouldn't blame Sony, but EA. Hard to believe though, considering the only two things you really need internet for in Inquisition is multiplayer and Dragon Age Keep which isn't required.

Ahhh, gotcha. I haven't read anything about it whatsoever. Still, i'm always connected to the internet, which may be why i've had zero issues.

I am no fanboy, i dont have Xbox(yet...) but i have everything else. I love my Ps4 just like i do with my PC and WiiU, why would i want make bs with it...

What had you expect if you turned on a game and all you saw was "connection to server" and you could do nothing else? Isnt it easy to think "oh this game need some kind of online to start ok" ?

It's up to the publisher to DRM their games or not.

(P.S., most PS4 games work perfectly fine without internet - this always was and remains an issue with publishers like EA shoving always online DRM down our throats for single player games)
