PS3 software attach rate hits 1.65! Resistance and Motorstorm top two games!

Healthy opening weekend software sales boost record breaking launch. Just as it revealed that Resistance: Fall of Man and MotorStorm had swept into the top two spotsin the all formats listings this week, ChartTrack also confirmed that overall, PS3 games were sold at a software-to-hardware ratio of 1.65. Considering the price of the console, this represents a significant success for platform holder Sony, although its predecessor PS2 boasted an opening weekend attach rate ratio of 1.67. The high volume of software sales meant that the new Sony format put in an impressive showing in its debut week at European retail. Six new PS3 games entered the top ten, with 13 in total across the all formats top 40. Five of the 13 were also PS3 exclusives.

i myself have at least 10 Xbox 360 games (i had more but i sold them cuz i never played them anymore), and 3 Wii games

Heh, i myself have 20 360 games. 1.65 isn't horrible, but the 360 has had a fairly high attach rate since launch. Yes, it's been above 1.65 since launch.

OT: 1 or 2 games attach rate is not bad this early on I guess.

That's what I usually do myself, get the console and 1 or 2 games to get me through the first week(s)

Yeah, because the population of the UK is 20% of that of the US, 20% of the market size of the US and wait for it...

even with the launch, the PS3 is still behind the 360 in sales, in the UK.

PS-   an attach rate of 1.65 is PATHETIC.  The 360 has an attach rate approaching 5.
