PS3 Outsells Wii & 360 in Europe: Week Ending 10/14/07

Here are the hardware totals for the week ending 10/14/07. The PS3 outsold both the 360 and the Wii.

Keep in mind that the new sku and price cut didn't go into effect till the 10th in Europe and the 11th in Australia and this is week ending the 14th.

Great! now they just need to keep that 2k more units sold momentum over the Wii for a couple of years and they will catch up :P

Btw, i like the PS3, but claiming ownage over a 2k advantage over the Wii is a little stupid imo... but the 30k advantage over the 360 is nice :)

PS3 is beating the 360 in Japan and Europe. All that's left is USA, and I think that will happen next year with releases like MGS4 and GT5. Don't even get me started on Final Fantasy. When the FF7 prequel released for PSP in Japan the sales boost was monumental.

When you live in Europe I'm sure you can form an opinion on how well the 360 is doing, what people think of it, who wants it and so on. Untill then, perhaps you should keep your fanboyish opinions to yourself. Ignorance isn't anything you should be proud of, let alone showing it off everywhere.

Anyway, on topic yeah the PS3 sales have gone up i think they said 300% here in the UK, it -is- down to the price cut, the new PS3 is sitting at a more reasonable price now but i still wont think about buying one till it's sitting aruond the £300 mark.

So the PS3 sold more in 3-4 days then the Wii and 360 sold in a week? Not bad.

Lets see if they can keep this up.

a) dont get too happy it too a second price drop and yea 3 days, but remember when ya used thios arguement with HS? Where is HS now?

b) To Dan, hardware affect software which in turn affect the dev which also affect the company with the hardware. What if all of a sudden, the wii stop selling ( wont happen tho), nintendo would be in trouble, and it affects teh consumer ( u who brought the system will ahve to realize that it wont have games really soon), taht's whats happen to the xbox ( tho lemmings will never admit), so they're just as important as the reviews people keep relyin on from GS.

c) the halo effect is pretty much over.

d) why are people referring to vgchartz? Everytime I do I get chastize for it, yet someone uses it when the ps3 is winning and all of a sudden its ok. Fanboyism at it's finest people

Meh, it was going to happen sooner or later. PS3's brand and games are simply too big for the competition.

Its a good start, but not enough yet. Both Ratchet and uncharted need to be advertised extremely well over the next two months, and assuming they are the great games most previews have told us they would be, thats when the PS3 will start looking like its back in the race.

A price drop alone isn't enough to keep those numbers consistent.

yes we are part of the european union, get your facts right. we have not fully signed up to the constitution, (we are not the only ones) but we are most certainly in the european union. we dont have the euro currency, but i have a european passport, so can go live in any country in europe. i cant just go live in USA. but thanks to European union, i can go live in italy or spain, france, germany, no problem.

UK is same as Greece where Im from I study in UK with just my country's ID card NO passport needed...The only difference is the euro currency...

Plus the European Union is almost 400 million now and UK is just 60-70million so its not like europe=UK sadly there are very few or none sales figures about EU oustide UK....

they diserve this small victory. not going to win them any war but sony have been alot more positive in europe in recent weeks.

new prices combined with the chance of getting a 60GB model at 40GB prices makes for a really tempting offer. theyll need more games to back it up though if they wish to mainthain these sales.

ps3 winning probably isnt the most suprising thing about those numbers, The most suprising thing in europe is the halo 3 hype is dead, and thats def not a good thing for the 360. im glad some of those countries have the Wii last in sales, shows some people still have good taste.

Where did you get sales in europe?

the tracking service there doesn't release sales numbers just pie charts last I saw....

The big deal is that more hardware solds means you get more devs making more games on that hardware.
