PS3 or Xbox 360 - Not sure which to choose

I'm not sure what I should pick. I want the 360 because of better online(even though I'm not a huge online player) and it's cheaper. I want the PS3 because ..... Metal Gear Solid 4 and that's really it. Shooters, action-adventure and racing games are my top genres for videogames.

Heres a list of some of my fav games from past systems:

MGS1

GTA: San Andreas

Okami

Medal of Honor:Frontlines

Resident Evil 4

Final Fantasy XII

And heres a list of next-gen games I'm interested in or want:

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (really want this)

GTA IV (want this bad)

Devil May Cry 4

Halo 3

Gears of War 2

Resident Evil 5

Final Fantasy XIII

Burnout Paradise

Someone help me choose or persuade me to go for the PS3 or Xbox 360 ?

based on your list... PS3.

Buy the MGS4 bundle the second it comes out if you can wait that long. Save a good $60 with it.

Either way, I would wait a couple months to buy either system for the above reason, and MS has to have some sort of price cut coming to 360 and they are still improving the RRoD rate with new consoles made.

Considering your list, id say ps3.

And since you said you love shooters and racing games, don't forget GT5, Resistance 2 and Killzone 2.

I'm sorry, the best games are on 360 period. Clearly the gamers choice. Unless you want to waste your money beleiveing that Bluray is really a monumental leap over DVD...

And your check from MS should be there in 2 to 3 business days. I can understand if IN YOUR OPINON 360 has teh best games, but dont say that for a FACT it has all the best games, becasue PS3 has some very very good games. Also, if you watched Blu-Ray on a 1080p set, youd see taht it is a big differnce from DVD.

Your list seems to sway more towards PS games, so I'd say go for the PS3. You might want to wait until June 12th because of the MGS4 bundle. Also, it's online service is getting a big improvement sometime in June.

Edit: The MGS4 bundle also comes with a DualShock 3 and Backwards Compatability, far better than the gimped 40GB.

So it is the 80gb one. Yeah TC go with the bundle. You get a Dualshock 3 too.

if u like shooters, racers, rpgs, rts, get the 360

online is SO much better than PSN too.

If you only want a ps3 for MGS4 then i would definately get a 360; it has the most diverse lineup this year and i'm sure you would find something for it.

If you want MGS4 and FFXIII PS3 is the only way to go. If you want Gears of War 2 Xbox 360 is the way to go.

If I was in your situation I would buy a PS3. You can't really go wrong because most games are multiplatform anyway so you will only miss out on a few exclusives. But if you want MGS4 it will only be on Ps3.

Just don't get the PS3 for a Blu-Ray movies, Thats what I did and upconverted DVD looks just as good and aren't letter boxed like most Blu-ray movies are. I haven't watched a Blu-ray movie with out black bars yet, HBO HD looks just as good, also with out letter boxed. I liked Uncharted but I really don't much use out my PS3. Sure, there is a big difference between quality of upconverted dvds and BD.

And many people do buy Ps3 only for BD playback, and they have loved every second of it. Just search forums pal.

Well I never did and never will get a system for any other reason then, games. Thats the point of a video game system. I'll get a PS3 for MGS4,GTA IV, Burnout Paradise, RE5 etc. Not for Blu-Ray or 80 gigs.anime_gamer007

Then as stated above, you can't go wrong(You forgot FFXII in your list!).

The 360 has much better versions of multiplatform title. By the end of 2008 you'll be able to play the following titles on the 360 that you cant play on the PS3
