Gonintendo is pretty good about reporting facts. They don't mention NGS but they do confirm the DS game.
Thankx for the link.Â
A 2D Ninja Gaiden! :D Long time no see...!Wintry_FlutistHate to break it to you...but indications seem to be that it won't be 2D. Hope for 2.5D as DS is proven to be crap with actual 3D (Tenchu anyone?)

May be really good, but insane 2D ninja action via Stylus sounds so sweet...

I still have Ninja Gaiden 2 for my old NES. My little bro can beat that game in minutes. He knows where every enemy is and where they come from so he can pretty much do a speed run without cheating and state saves.Â
[QUOTE="Hyper-Chicken"] Fixed.Runningflame5701) Such "fixing" is banned in this forum, thanks. 2) DS can't do fast-paced 3D games well, the system lacks both the hardware capabilities and input type to do it well. 3) Tenchu, TMNT, Burnout Legends, Marvel Nemesis, JL Heroes, King Kong and others all prove this. Even the quickly ported PSP versions are much better.
It's not like those games are pushing the DS to its limits. The DS is capable of 3D, as SM64 proved, and Team Ninja is known for taking full advantage of any hardware. Ninja Gaiden 3 still looks better then several SNES games! Anyway, if they think NG can be done in 3D on DS, let them do their job.

Mario 64 still had poor controls compared to the original and to date there is not a single good fighting game on the DS, these two things in addition to the items I mentioned priorly lead me to that conclusion, I hope Team Ninja can prove me wrong, but until they do I'm sticking to those thoughts on the DS.
Wow thanks for reporting me.Hyper-Chicken

Well for one, you're going back on your "DS can't do 3-D" statement, and MPH looked great along with many other games (including the recently released Custom Robo). Second, the DS does have a great fighter. A great fighter from america, no, but there is great fighters overseas.Well for one, you're going back on your "DS can't do 3-D" statement, and MPH looked great along with many other games (including the recently released Custom Robo). If you pull out a good one you will also have to concede that PSP has good RPGs, just not in America (although that looks to be changing this year).

Well the difference between japanese fighting games and japanese RPG's is that RPG's are too text heavy for a good import >__>  Anyway, Jump Ultimate Stars. Jump Superstars is good too, but Ultimate is a better sequel with online play and many other features the first one missed. If you have a DS, look this game up and save up the money for it. It's really great. What RPG's are coming out for the PSP other than Crisis Core and FF Tactics? I generally don't like RPG's that much so I don't really look.
Does anyone have a link or confirmation about this game?monsternachomanWhat, the DS game? Yeah, it's all in this thread somewhere. Famitsu or some japanese magazine confirmed it.

In addition, J'eanne D'arc is being localized, as is Brave Story (former received great scores in Famitsu, later is supposed to be darn good also).

Yeah, he seems to be ignoring MPH which is faster paced than most console shooters and looks great too.http://ds.ign.com/articles/776/776483p1.html
Ninja Gaiden Coming to DS
Team Ninja's mystery DS project revealed.
US, March 28, 2007 - While Team Ninja's dabbling in DS development has been known since the system's launch over two years ago, we've at last learned the true identity of the mystery project. The latest issue of Famitsu reports that the DS will be getting an original installment in the Ninja Gaiden series. That's right, Ninja Gaiden is back on Nintendo!
Fully titled Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword, the Team Ninja-developed title is a 3D action game that makes full use of the DS's most standout feature: the stylus. The entire game can be controlled almost entirely with the touch-based motions. You guide Ryu Hayabusa about the play field by tapping in the direction you'd like to go. Slashing the touch pen from down to up makes Hayabusa launch an enemy into the air, into a perfect position for combos. You make Hayabusa jump by tapping the screen twice, and can then point to enemies to shoot shurikens at them and perform a downward thrust attack. Even your ninja arts make use of the stylus, requiring that you draw shapes in order to perform the special attacks. Buttons are used only for defensive moves.
If an all touch-based Ninja Gaiden wasn't a big enough surprise, Ninja Gaiden DS has one additional peculiarity. The game is meant to be played by holding the DS with both screens lined up horizontally. This has presumably been done to give a tall view of the action on the touch screen, as the left screen is used to display maps.
Team Ninja head Tomonobu Itagaki is producer on Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword. In an interview with Famitsu, he revealed just how long the game has been in development, noting that Team Ninja had plans to make this sort of touch-based game when they first announced their support for the DS. Incidentally, the ability to use the stylus is what made the team go with the DS instead of the PSP.
Itagaki also revealed that Ninja Gaiden DS will feature an all new character, a mysterious female ninja whose name is currently unknown. You'll first take control of her during the game's tutorial sequence. Itagaki and crew felt that the game needed a tutorial due to its unique control scheme, but that it wouldn't be right to have a super ninja like Hayabusa fumbling about. Instead, Hayabusa shows you how to perform all the moves, and you follow as the girl.
Team Ninja is working to make this a 100% pure action game, Itagaki promised in closing comments to the magazine. The game is set for Japanese release in 2007, and will surely make its way internationally as well.
