Metacritic - 74-75

Honestly, sounds about right. Still, looks pretty fun.

The fact that there's a "Kung Fu Peach", someone at Nintendo has been watching some Hong Kong action cinema.

I wonder if it's a good game for long time Mario fans, or if it's more about bringing in a non-gamer newbie crowd?

The game is explicitly aimed for little girls to enjoy. Which is pretty nice for the kids, considering how fleshed out it appears to be and the amount of polish that Nintendo put into it.

@jaydan: @R4gn4r0k: Yeah, most likely a game for people who don't play games much. Like Kirby.

Great games for kids (not just girls). Not very fun for me.

In a world of marketing, target audience is generally specific to a crowd, and in this case little kids (particularly girls). Does not means boys won't enjoy it, or neckbeard men in their 40's.

Regardless, target audience remains.

@jaydan: Yes, ofc. Might've come out that way, but wasn't meant as a correction to what you said. I'd probably enjoy some time with the game, Nintendo always have some fun ideas, but I can imagine this to be one of those where it's borderline impossible to fail.

Not gonna make a thread about it so I'll just drop this here in a Nintendont thread. :P

It's just nice to see a game fleshed out like this and geared for the kids, and not an afterthought or a money predator like most of the mobile games out there that kids play.

I understand very well that parents with small kids will be excited to play this with them. Like taking your kid on their first roller coaster, it will be a fond memory in the making.

Yup, have absolutely no problem with Nintendo having a diverse roster of games :)

On the other hand I really liked Super Princess Peach so I wouldn't have minded playing another game about Peach.

Looks like a good game for new gamers. But yeah, the scores seems about right. Game looks far too simple and devoid of depth to be gripping in the long term.

Should have gone the Kirby route of easy to learn but difficult to master.

@texasgoldrush: You think critics underrate Nintendo's games?

It's the other way round, critics love to overrate Nintendo's games.

They kinda overrate mainline Nintendo games, not Good Feel games, or games from smaller studios working for Nintendo.

Wooly World is one of the most underrated Nintendo games.

@texasgoldrush: True, Good Feel has always been underrated by critics. And it's simple I think, critics rush to complete a game to get a review out to make money. But you can't rush Good Feel games, the fun is in the collecting, replaying until you've discovered all that's there. Reviewers don't care for that, they don't right guides, they just rush through to make a quick buck.

Good Feel, a developer.

Did Yoshi's Wooly World and Kirby's Epic Yarn.

@texasgoldrush: Oh Good Feel is a dev. Right now I'm on the same page.

Ain't you the guy who likes to talk about stories in video games? What's the story in this game, surely it's basic garbage right?

Reviewers are stupid. They call this game short and shallow, except really, all Mario platformers are short and shallow.

This game is as short and shallow as Super Mario Wonder, but with far better boss fights.

Don't be shy now, share the details. I've seen you criticise plenty of other games for their stories, so if this devs games are underrated, then that must mean the story is great.

@last_lap: Good Feel don't write stories like crappy voice dialogue story writers. Good Feel tells stories through motion story telling. Their story is in the motion dialogue and the adventures you make playing through it. Like how all movies and video game story telling should be. Akira Kurosawa would be proud.

It's a game with Nintendo characters, of course the story's gonna suck. It's for children after all, grown man sticking up for it is pretty disturbing.

Some get Helldivers2, others DD2, some are still playing BG3. On the Nintendo land, you get none of these bangers, and instead, you get a game aimed at 7 year old girls. Please take care of your sanity. Good luck in life.

@texasgoldrush: Easy but Kirby has enough depth in the movesets so that it certainly feels rewarding to get better at.
