Well, I don't play online so I never had a gold account. Nevertheless I wanted to share this info with you guys. I bet the increase pricing is the result of putting all that junk (Facebook etc) on xbox live.

I miss those simple times when consoles were meant strictly for playing games and watching movies.

Lemmings can't catch a break. MS seems to be focusing on PC, XBL is increasing in price and their exclusive future looks dim.

I'm speechless.. I'm already at a loss as to why I pay for XBOX Live Gold in the first place and now their upping the price. :| It's like Microsoft are intentionally pushing me away from their console.

They dont look to be raising the 12 month in Canada which is good. I still have a bunch of months left anyways.

10 bucks a year ain't that much, but it's getting harder and harder to justify as the games move over to the PS3 and I already have a really nice PC I can play online for free with.

Are you kidding me? I'm gonna have to change over to buying 12 month cards, otherwise i'll likely be paying $15+ CDN monthly for Gold (I already pay $12 after exchange).
