Got The Frozen Wilds at a discount from PS+ which was good but anyways, Horizon: Zero Dawn is still by far my favorite PS4 game of 2017. I'm on my second playthrough as we speak, such an amazing game by Guerrilla Games and totally looking forward to playing this Expansion tomorrow.

@drlostrib: Just mainly it's like Mad Max meets futuristic robots and I'm known to be a huge sci-fi guy. Zero Dawn just happens to surprise me this year for being such a new IP game. Shooting Robots at there weak points and the Bow/Arrow gameplay was fluid so it made me like the game more so.

LOL I totally forgot about GT Sport has yet to get a final score. But really who cares? Too many games to play then worrying over a lol Score.

I don't care about scores, but having fun with scores well that's a totally different story lol.

So many games to play, so little time. I might get into this now that I'm almost done with Assassin's Creed Origins. (that is if I have enough time before December 1st, when my LIFE CHANGES FOREVER!! MWHAHAH!)

Horizon is a game that came out of the gate with me loving it. But hunting the robot dinos got stale, Aloy is as exciting a character as Gordon Freeman, and it just lost my interest.

Is this an insult or something? Since when is DLC the big holiday release? Good dlc is a huge plus for any game.

I'm also really enjoying Horizon..... first few hours were a drag and didn't really get my attention....... then all of a sudden the game peaked out of no where and now I can't stop playing it.

Who cares ? Whoever wanted a PS4 most likely owns one already. I bet most of Switch owners or Switch future owners own a PS4 as we speak. This is an almost 5 years old product vs few months old product. In fact you comparing a gen 8 console to a gen 9 console. So not that surprising to me if Switch demolish PS4 or X1 in sales this holiday, specially with 2 of their top guns out at the same time.

Really though, it's great to see that not all expansions are treated with a level of cynicism. This looks like a genuinely cool expansion for the fans.

Nice. More of bore fest. Shooting robot dinosaurs over and over again. Stupid investigation quests a la witcher, when you need to use your witcher/batman senses to follow the breadcrumb to some point of the map. The only thing this game has of the gameplay is shooting at different body parts of the dinosaurs. How this game is praised to high heavens by Sony fanboys, i don't understand. You guys are killing gaming, you are killing quality gaming by shilling the most casual trash only because the Sony logo is on it. Sony doesn't need to try anymore as you will eat shit from Sony, smile and tell it taste delicious only because it's a sony ezclusive and you like 5 year olds can boast about it to xbox fanboys. System Wars in nutshell.

Fantastic game gets a great expansion? What's not to love? :D

@ivangrozny: I mean I laugh at posts like yours no matter what the game (since even garbage like Wii motion controls, minigames and Kinect didn't do much, if any, harm to gaming overall) but it's particularly weird in the case of Horizon. If you aren't pretty careful and stealthy, you can easily be slaughtered by even mid tier robotic enemies. If you don't craft different elemental ammo and use it against enemies with the corresponding weaknesses, fights are a lot harder. Setting traps and ambushes is both possible and rewarding. Even just trying to hit a particular weakpoint with an arrow is interesting and fun. It's a weird game to attack for being casual, while it's no hardcore PC sim there's a hell of a lot more going on here than most AAA big budget console games.

@i_p_daily: No locked-on features. Just Precision Time feature however.

@locopatho: what you say it's true. The problem is it's only fun for first 30 hours. Then it becomes routine. When you discover how huge distances are in this world between the objectives to advance the story, and how shallow the world is on secondary activities that don't involve killing dinosaurs over and over again, you will be just say **** the stealth, **** the traps, **** the slow pace trudging through hostile areas. You will just hop on your robot bull horse and ride past all your challenging dinosaurs. Because i am not fucking killing thes bellowbacks for the 20th time. The problem with the game is that the most fun feature of this game, combat, becomes eventually what one hates the most because the game throws the combat at you over and over again. It's worse than grind.

And the secondary activities that are supposed to distract you from killing dinosaurs are mostly about:

Oh i need your help. Can you go to that extreme point of the map and kill even more dinosaurs for me.

How Alloy didn't kill yet all fucking dinosaurs and exterminated all the boars in that fucking valley is beyound me.

Secondly, I'd say a game being fun for 30(!) hours is an achievement and it's surely not worthy of being called "casual trash" if you spent that long having fun in it?

Finally, I agree that combat would get repetitive and even boring once you get to a certain level of power. It feels quite stagnant. But that's why they gave us stealth and mounts so that we can avoid and flee combat. If you were forced to fight every time, that would be a BIG flaw, definitely. But I was cool just avoiding combat quite a lot. For a 60 hour game (my completion time, ish) I think it did a reasonable job of staying fresh and interesting. Not a perfect game, but a fantastic one, imo.

Great score for an expansion pack. Really loving the snow themed ones, there was one for Horizon 3 too.

Another garbage story from Guerilla. No surprise there

It's actually VERY smart on Sony's part not to go head to head with Nintendo Switch and Mario this holiday by trying to release one of their big new titles against the Mario Odyssey storm on Switch's first holiday season.

People who were already interested in PS4 and just wanted to get it at a cheaper price will still get a PS4 and all Sony has to do is sit back and watch the fireworks as MS tries to compete with Nintendo for new platform sales using their expensive new Xbox one upgrade vs Nintndo Switch and a high profile New Mario.

Sony is most likely saying, "we can't believe MS is really trying to go head to head releasing their new upgrade with no exclusives against a blockbuster new Mario this holiday"!
