WTF Sony?!

Is that a joke? The worst Sony conference over many years. They didn't show NOTHING, they didn't confirm even ONE RELEASE DATE. God of War? 2018. Detroit: Become Human? 2018? Where is Days Gone? Where is Spider-Man? Where is The Last of Us: Part II, Ghost of Tsushima... Final Fantasy VII Remake? Lack of any details sums up the occurrence of Hideo Kojima. He didn't prepare even a one-second material for Sony. MediEvil? Usual remaster. This series needs a new, full-fledged, great story ... Not some cutlet. It was just a waste of time ...

PSX is about the event itself and for those attending it. Game announcements were just a bonus really.

I knew what to expect and didn't bother to watching it cause I was too busy playing my PC games and few PS4 games. Gamespot and Youtubers will fill in the blanks for me so that was helpful.

@deadlyyraven: they said people complained about their e3 presence compared to psx, so they shifted their priority apparently. Its pretty much laid out that this was going to be smaller

I was expecting a big conference with loads of game announcements like every other PSX.. But no, what we got was 2hours 30 minutes of the most boring talk show ever. You should of seen the twitch chat it was literally being flooded with complaints. The chat was more entertaining than the talk show.

I blame all the people that bitched about games being announced "too early." Sony has been holding back to reset the clock on announcement timing. The good news is that they are listening to people. The bad news is, those people are fucking stupid.

Sony had a fantastic year, and next year looks great as well, so when it comes to games they are just fine. The issue is they just announced it all already. I also think it's pretty normal for platforms to have dry years (although this isn't the case, as noted).

That being said, if you don't have anything to announce (either because you already did, as in this case, or because of a drought), maybe don't charge people hard earned cash to come to a special platform-specific conference? PS fans are getting the games... but those who paid to go to this might be pissed

They have so many games, that they simply can't present it in a small conference. That's what happens when you are the market leader.

Holding back what? They've already showed their hand. Many times over. They have nothing left to hold back. What are they going to do, announce Horizon Zero Dawn 2 already? Or Last of Us 3? Lol.

On Twitter, begging Phil Spencer for new games. In that case, the Xbox experience for 2017 has been kind of miserable all around.

Yeah the whole thing was duller then dishwater. Detroit looked cool but that’ll be something I pick up later on down the line for cheap. I’m very hyped for Blazblue Cross Tag Battle but we hardly saw anything. Same with Soul Calibur VI. Monster Hunter World was pretty good and I got a kick out of the Mega Man bit. Love Death Stranding but it was the exact same trailer as the one from the Game Awards the night before. Just way too much talking with nothing of substance to take away from it.

Honestly, in general, game awards was a better event than even E3 this year.

Given that this is a PS-centric event put on by Sony, I think it served its purpose.

@MonsieurX: I don't think so. PS Experience from last year was amazing, the announcement of The Last Of Us Part II was such amazing. The emotions was bigger than every E3 ever.

And PS Experience from the last weekend? Shittiest conference ever. Sony is a dick for us at the moment and I prefer Nintendo one million times more.

Yeah, it was...I mean, I understand that they didn't have anything to show...but if that were the case, they should just made an small show.

Also what a wasted opportunity, they didn't talk at all about Capcom Cup, it was the perfect opportunity to advertise yr he event for the casual players.

So yeah, it was a huge waste of time.

Yeah.... I don't even watch these things any more. High-budget yet cringey as hell, take forever to say nothing, etc...

I prefer the bullet point summaries.

I went to the 2015 one and felt much the same way. I skipped out on Sunday and toured San Francisco instead - I wasn't about to fly there from NY for nothing :P

As others have said, though, it's to be expected that a fan-centric conference that big announcements likely won't be happening there. Hell, I still remember how everyone felt with the SCEA president on stage with a Crash Bandicoot shirt.

What was the total expense?

This.

Also, need to keep stuff for E3 to beat MS and now Nintendo.

@PSP107: About $500. It was worth it, though, because I've always wanted to go there at least once.
