Meanwhile X1X is rendering tumble weeds at native 4k and Nintendo are getting ready to release the 112th rehash of Smash Bro's and Pokemon.

Strong first and second party support is a big reason if you'd ask me.

The console is only getting cheaper and there is no shortage of exclusives coming out so it makes sense that sales would follow suit. I just hope the same goes for next gen because this gen has been fantastic.

PS4 unit sales are slightly down YoY for the previous quarter. It's just revenue that's up due to software sales and a lack of discounts compared to last year. PS4 is an absolute monster still of course, but that headline is slightly misleading. Don't expect PS4 to beat 2017.

Yes, PS4 unit sales and PS4 software sales are two different things. May need to contact Engadget to make a correction on its article.

TLOU 2 will be the swansong for PS4.

Imagine if they cut the price with 100 bucks. I see PS4 getting to 120+ mil sales.

$ 149 2019 PS4 bundle with a more complete RDR2 + TLOU2 bundle might go for a sales record.

Sales are actually slowing and will soon drop hard when PS5 hits since PS5 should at very least have PS4 BC... making buying a PS4 useless unless you cant afford a PS5. We got like 1-2 years before PS5 hits so i expect PS4 to pass 100 million but will never reach PS2.

WEll, its safe to say anyone looking for a current gen console, will first think of PS4, since its the top of the market, top on ratings, top on reviews console.
