There seems to be this natural faction that gets created around what console you own, and then this… I would call it “unhealthy dislike” for people who own the other console.

I think it should be competitive, but the competition is in the marketplace. I have ton of respect for people at Sony and the franchises they build. The same with Nintendo, or my friends at Valve… In the end what we all wanna do is to take this art form of playing games and experiencing the breaking down of the wall between the narrative and interaction [...] and just make a better form of entertainment.

I love the fans that we have , but being a fan of Xbox doesn’t mean you can’t be a fan of something else, or that you have to be an antifan of some other brand. I own a PlayStation 4. I play Games on my PlayStation 4. I own and I play games on my Wii U. I learn a ton from what happens on those other platforms.

In terms of the concerns that people have in the social space, it’s usually about how we’re doing in the competition,against PlayStation, just to go directly towards that. They had a great launch. I would say, when I look at the PlayStation 4′s launch and the Xbox One’s… It’s been our best launch ever for an Xbox.

A year ago the question was whether consoles were relevant anymore, and has the industry moved beyond console gaming. Has anyone shown up to the party when these two big manufacturers brought their consoles out in November? And today we all see that hasn’t been a problem. If you look at what both consoles have done, it’s been an amazing year, probably the best year.

Not surprising, but reassuring.

That's because they have better things to do then to waste their times hating on another console, which is more then i can say for many people not only here, but elsewhere.

I agree that fanboys are bad for every form of consumer products. Disgusting race.

I don't hate Playstation, it's the cows that piss me off. In fact when I'm not on here messing around, I really don't think too much about Nintendo, Sony and MS.

they wan't to destroy competition, so their own business would thrive. every big corporation aims to be bigger than the competitor. if not, someone should tip their shareholders to bail out.

Having respect for competitors, and wanting competition are two totally different things.

The PC userbase is justified in disliking Microsoft. Likewise, everyone, regardless of Platform is justified in disliking Microsoft for it's attempted grip of the consumer.

What's the relationship between 'being nice' and 'playing the victim'? Why does being nice mean that or lead to that? I don't get it.

And did they try to **** gamers or did they just try something that was badly comunicated, didn't work and/or the console market wasn't ready for? Let's be honest, the original concept for the X1 was VERY similar to the Steam box but without the sales that Steam throw every other month.

this. MS is testing it's limits. those knobheads think they are too big to fall and can do what ever they want. they deserve a little slap in the face from gamers.

At the end of the day fanboys or not it's just business and competition keeps them on their feet to help make their products their service better without it I feel we wouldn't have the same experiences we have each gen and tackle new ideas.

But on another note last gen they had no problems with fanboys but because the Xbox isn't doing as they expected their playing the nice card which is a little bs but whatever it took Sony a dose of reality to be humble glad to see MS doing the same and not being overly cocky

On the other hand Sony is busy fuelling the very same fanboys with cheapshots at MS. Phil Spencer is a great guy.

I agree with this statement. Anyone that dislike another person because they criticize/bash a game console clearly have some issues.

They can afford a Xbone but can't afford a PS4?.. That makes no sense. Xboners can buy the best but they choose not to.

well, that explains why they're losing their edge, knowing how to manipulate the fanboy masses is crucial in selling the product, if they don't know or don't care in appealing to that crowd then they've already lost
