So PS5 confirmed for weaker than Xbone X then?
PS5 will be more powerful than Xbox One X, Sony locked in TFLOPS race

The PlayStation 5 will boast more TFLOPS than Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox One X, claims Michael Pachter, an analyst with Wedbush Morgan Securities.
Speaking with GamingBolt, Pachter reiterated that PS5 will launch around 2019 when 4K adoption becomes more widespread, and that Sony will be firmly locked in a TFLOPs race with Microsoft with its next-generation home console.
“By the time 4K becomes affordable in 2019, PlayStation will have a 4K device, that will have more TFLOPs than the Xbox One X has, because they seem to be in a TFLOPs race,” said Pachter.
The analyst also said that he thinks the PS4 will stick around for a long while yet, and will continue to be sold even after the launch of the as-yet unannounced PS5, provided the console keeps pulling in the punters. Obviously, Sony has done this with its previous consoles, with PS2 and PS3 in particular continuing to sell even after the launch of their successors.
PS5 release date rumors
Pachter has touched on the subject of the PS5 multiple times in the past, and feels strongly that we’ll see a new console out around 2019/2020, which will feature backwards compatibility with the PS4 Pro. Sony has indicated that a PS5 release is still a long way off, although has at least acknowledged that the format holder will launch new hardware at some point down the line.
Higher TFLOPS is nearly nothing without matching memory bandwidth to back it up. Until we see mainstream PC GPU cards sports GDDR5X or GDDR6 or HBMv2, any substantial TFLOPS increase will be memory bandwidth bound.
X1X's still sports PC's mainstream GDDR5-6800 chips and X1X's 384 bit bus is a workaround for lack of cheap GDDR5X-10000 chips.
GDDR5-8000 and 9000 rated chips are available but they are not cheap enough for Sony and MS. Sony uses 8 GDDR5-7000 chips for PS4 Pro.

GDDR6 is rated up to 16000 effective Mhz.
For year 2019 or 2020, mainstream GDDR6-16000 with 256 bit bus yields 512 GB/s. You're looking at Vega 10 or GTX 1080 Ti's level physical memory bandwidth which is about similar time period for AMD's 7 nm based mainstream NAVI 11 GPU.
NAVI 11 replaces Vega 11 which replaces Polaris 10/20 GPUs.
Wow...so much wisdom this guy spreads...lol. I would sure hope the next Playstation would be more powerful than the Xbox One X...lmfao.
Hot off the press.. Mooaar pearls of wisdom from Pachter. lol :P

This thread is pretty superfluous. In CAR equivalent temrs, it basically says "in 2019 they will be selling 2019 model cars, confirmed!"
Obviously in 2-3 years time, hardware will be more powerful. Even PC hardware and phone hardware will be more powerful in 2-3 years over today, that's just natural progression of technology. The real headline would be if they released a weaker console in a few years time.
At least link to my article if you will quote it and copy it wholesale
I think I'm gonna have to start frequenting gaming Bolt. It actually has gaming news on the front page!
Yet they have this article for gaming news.
Better than having movie stories regarding Wasp's costume in the new Ant Man
So is this all going be talking about is the next Xbox and Playstation console for 2 to 3 years until we hear real specs of them that is kinda sad. PPl must be bored of current systems if talking about stuff that barely is in design phase by the companys right now kinda sad
So Pachter is Captain Obvious? That would explain why he's such a failure
Don't think "Captain Obvious" quite covers it. Perhaps 'Obvious in Chief'?
wow, really going out on a limb for that one
Right... I couldn't stop laughing. Michael 'Captain Obvious" Patcher is at it again. Maybe he can predict how many more TFlops the Scorpio 2 will have over the PS5 when it launched in 2020-2021.
