Ouch! Dying Light 2: Stay Human gets a 6/10 (Review-in-Progress so subject to change)

Dying Light 2 Stay Human Review-in-progress and while a 6 is a valid concern and totally didn't see this coming, I was sooo looking forward to playing this as I enjoy the first game. I'll wait for Steam reviewers as they tend to be more independent.

Not really all that interested in this myself so it’s “whatever” to me but that kind of sucks for those looking forward to the game. Maybe the reviewer just hasn’t spent 500 hours with the game yet. 😜

IGN and EG seem to like it so looks like it's hit or miss.

Some place are giving it a 9/10. What up?

I saw that over on IGN they gave it a 7/10. IGN is starting to get better on their reviews to say the least.

I'm guessing something offended the reviewer.

Apparently there was a day one patch that fixed loads of stuff so maybe the bad reviews played the early version.

Gamers need to stop focusing on the the review score and focus on what the reviewer says about the game.

Well if you were already looking forward to it, don't let a score turn you down.

I bought No More Heroes 3 last year, it had polarizing reviews as well, and I still loved the game.

Mine has been dispatched,I'll give my review score when it's finished,might be a while I'm a completion-ist this might take a while its touted to be 500 hours 🤣

I'm interested in playing it still. Keep in mind that the first one scored in the 70s range in metacritic and opencritic and had the same story and bug issues just like this sequel and many people, including me, loved Dying Light 1. If it still keeps the same exploration and combat from the first, then I'm sure this will be another situation where I dismiss reviews and focus on the point of these games....killing those zombies.

I'll wait for the platinum or whatever edition.

This version of Dying light 2 with chris avellon as lead designer was best version. kinda shame it got scrapped.

I'm getting it anyways just because I enjoyed their games in past, even both Dead Island games. I hope this isn't one of those reviewers who is going to complain because their playing other games the site has access too like Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West and treating the one game they're supposed to be reviewing as a burden.

its hard to trust gaming reviews nowadays. Gamespot rated the medium a 9/10 and its a game I am enjoying. But you check on metacritic and the ratings are at 7.3/10. Then you have GS giving FF7R a 10/10, and interlude as well, but I could barely get 1/3 of the way through before I dropped it.

GS also gave the first dying light a 7/10, but it ended up being fairly popular with millions of players.

Sick of these day 1 glitchy rushed releases I'll probably wait for a sale and some patches.

The original was mediocre and suffered from poor characters, poor mission design, and OK gameplay. I wouldn't expect an evolution from that mediocracy.

I thought DL2 would be received really well, but the original had really mixed reviews and I loved it so I'm still looking forward to it this coming weekend as I can get it cheaper over at CDkey.

beside i have said multiple times the original version the immersive sim one was lost. the 2018 reveal was incredible.

@davillain: Yeah plus, it's a dumb stigma to be against games all the sudden just because it got less than ideal scores.

Like, if one were genuinely looking forward to a game and all the sudden a 6/10 makes them not want to give it a try, they're kinda pretentious followers over their inability to make up their damn mind.

I, for one, am glad I bought No More Heroes 3 despite a 4/10 rating here.

Here is the DF review of the Last Gen console versions... the reviewer made it sound like they focused on the last gen and did not add much to current gen in way of features (i.e. the PS5 and XSX could do more than they do)
