Online Play Confirmed for Xenoblade Chronicles X

Information comes from the game's eShop page in Japan (the game went live for pre-loading on Friday there) (information collected from NeoGAF):

• Single Player RPG
• Players Online Quests
• 32 Players Indirect Online (For Information exchange and item trading)
• Support for keyboards through USB for text chatting

Sounds good to me- also it seems that the online mode will be separate from the single player portion of the game, which is good because I was worrying that the man game's design might be compromised because of online play considerations. Nice to know that won't happen; looking forward to playing some quests in X online some time.

The KB is a step in right direction. The pre bakes crap they have have Kart is embarrassing in this day and age, Still missing the basic chat function which really should be a standard.

You won't need to play the first one. Its not a direct sequel. It is kinda involved with the universe. Like how in the FF games there are chocobos in every game but the worlds are not related.

I don't think it's even in the same universe besides of the Nopons being in the game.

Hopefully it turns out alright, White Knight chronicles got off to a good start but it had all that micro-transaction crap and gameplay wasn't interesting enough for billions of hours,...never tried WK2.

its as close as it'll get to an mmo before being officially called 'mmo', tho. This game, for example, is waaaaaay mmo'ish than Destiny and lots of people call Destiny an mmo.

Because those usb ethernet connectors don't exist, and because I just love listening to people belch, blow smoke, smack gum and sing on voice "chat". That really enhances my online gaming experience.

Just going to say, Xenoblade Chronicles is expensive but it's very worth your time (even if it costs you $100). 60+ hours gameplay for just the main story, phenomenal combat system, all around one of the best RPGs in the last decade.

I think they might be doing a 3DS re-release, so you could also just play that.

Great argument. Being expected to mute annoying people is just too much of a burden. It's better for in-game voice chat to be removed altogether.

Yeah, voice chat on the internet just plain sucks. Muting every other freak is a pain. I don't even use mics on other systems, and I hate everybody I play with asking me constantly "you got a mic?" . Yeah I got a mic but you annoy me so much that if I used it I'd tell you how much you annoy me.

Is there a source for the Wii U eshop? Because that needs to happen.
