Ok, now im confused about Total sales for 360 and PS3.

According to this report, PS3 has sold 41.6 million consoles WW. And the 360 selling 44.6 million WW.

Now we have Major Nelson saying 360 has sold 42 million consoles.

maybe those are shipped numbers, and major nelson is reporting sold #'s

As I made mention in the other thread you posted this, Major Nelson's probably rounding up the last financial figures (41.7 iirc). Those numbers were the most official we had until the last couple days.

Always use the financial figures. They are the easiest to compare and are the only numbers that legally have to be accurate. Anything else can be old, conjecture, spin, or anything else. Just stick with the reports.

You're confused about the difference between shipped and sold. MS has sold about 5 million more 360s than PS3s and Sony has shipped about 3 million less PS3s than 360s. This is expected since MS had to clean inventory for the Slim release.

The number on the FS are those that are shipped.

GT has lost relevance to the shooters of today, and pre-orders show it being a shadow of its former self. The biggest thing that gives consoles momentum is price drops and MS hadn't had one in a very long time, so they have that at their disposal, not so easy for Sony to do that though. themyth01
