BAM
The movie industry continues to try to make bad game to movie adaptations.

Urgh it'll be totally unwatchable. And let's be honest there's no point cause there's already been THREE pure quality Drake movies (and one terrible one :P).
I'd say it's not about Mark Wahlberg as much as it's about the director.
Streets of New York, Planet of the Apes, Boogie Nights, The departed... I'd say he's played significant roles in movies that should at the very least be called decent.

People around here think if Nathan Fillion was chosen, it would be the best movie ever. An uncharted movie isn't a good idea in the first place. That is why it will most likely fail.

Nathan Fillion IS Nathan Drake. He looks like him, talks like him, and exudes the same attitude. Marky Mark exhudes Boston. It's not a good fit.[QUOTE="Filthybastrd"]Nathan Fillion IS Nathan Drake. I think you have a very good point but it's not a disaster by any means. Well, I don't think Wahlberg will be the catalyst anyway.. Obviously he pleased someone at the casting as I'm sure it's not his star power that made them choose him.
Should have gotten Harrison Ford.VideoGameGuyNow that would've made sense if only he weren't ancient - plus Crystal Skull sucked!
Mark Wahlberg is a far better actor than Nathan Fillion. The problem with Wahlberg is that he's been looking out of shape, as of late.
"FEEL IT, FEEL IT! C'MON C'MON". Seriously... can't believe they didn't go with Fillion on this thing. Max Payne was unwatchable.donalbane
As long as it doesn't get in the way of the games, I don't really give a flip.:P
Good, anyone but Fillionweezyfb
I couldn't agree more. The guy is terrible--a half-way decent tv actor, but that's it. Fillion is about equal to...
The movie has a decent director. I don't understand why everyone hates Wahlberg. He is a good actor.

Really???? I heart the huckabees sucked. Also the guy gets into fights with his actors. Also the script is not even close to resembling anything in the games. Also Robert DeNiro is playing Drake's dad and Joe Pesci is in talks to play his uncle, say waaaaa? :o
Seriously I have no idea who green lights this kind of stuff. Hollywood sucks for coming up with good ideas these days. Sony is shooting themselves in the foot with this idea

i hope his like the villain or something... he doesnt have the talent to play drake.campzorUhh it's a video game adaptation, you're not gonna get some Oscar winning actor. Besides I don't know why people are so down on Wahlberg he's a decent actor and Max Payne being bad wasn't his fault, that movie was doomed from the start.
WHY in the hell are they making a movie from a game that prides itself on feeling like a MOVIE?!?!!?!

So you can't hire a talented, and most importantly well-cast, actor who doesn't cost a lot?
See here a bunch of options that are actually probably cheaper than Mark Wahlberg (except Hugh Jackman)

Hey, man, I don't run the show in Hollywood. :P[QUOTE="Cherokee_Jack"][QUOTE="BreakTheseLinks"] Uhh it's a video game adaptation, you're not gonna get some Oscar winning actor.BreakTheseLinks

With casting like this, I wonder if anyone even expects this movie to leave production.
(Then again, Wahlberg is one of the few stars who actually made a VG adaptation that not only got to theaters, but did well at the box office...maybe it's a smart move?)
