Self Explainatory thread. For fps, which do you prefer? I used inverted control. Friends call me weird, don't ask me why, because iono. My brain just works that way XD. That's only for controller. I play normally on pc. What about you guys? Discuss.

NORMAL always normal.
I Fly AIRPLANES, not HUMANS.
-------------
When I PUSH "UP", I want to LOOK "UP".
Pushing :
DOWN = DOWN
LEFT = LEFT
RIGHT = RIGHT
I went through an INVERTED phase because of stupid Nintendo 64 RARE shooters, but luckily It was only for N64. My first FPS was on PC well before N64 existed (Doom) and PC after corrected that small phase.
I think you will find most INVERTED votes are hardcore N64 RARE SHOOTER fans that never let go of Inverted all these years later.
-----------
You know what's funny About NINTENDO? After years and years and Generations of pushing Inverted on the masses, through the N64 RARE shooters, and the Metroid Prime GameCube games, METROID PRIME 3 IS NOT INVERTED, MP3 is normal.
It' s funny how the new controller scheme changed Nintendo and Retro's Mentality, finally.
Normal. Up is up and down is down.bronxxbombers
And Left if Left and Right is Right.
And not only in FPS controls, but also on cameras controls...
but you are moving your field of view down to look down, so you could also interpret it as pushing the stick down to look down, and vice versaIn real life you bend forward to look down and backwards to look up. Inverted should be the normal default setting.

You are stretching man! Pun intended.

I don't want to "imagine" my body in a 3rd person persective to use a camera system in dimensional space.
WHen I "Push Down", I want to "Look Down". When I push "Right", I want to look "Right".
I don't care how my body looks when I'm doing these actions in real life.

Wrong topic?? :?
i voted normal as that is pc for me, i just thought i would give more then my voteInverted is "normal" to me.
My intuition tells me that to angle up, something else must angle down.
I hate when cameras aren't inverted, confuses the hell out of me.

Well, IT IS WEIRD.
I mean, no offense intended, but the must be something (not entirely, but somehow) wrongwith your brain when you have to push "up" when you think "down" and viceversa.

You got it.Normal. Inverted is just confusing as hell, why would you press down to look up and press up to look down :x

When you bend over you are moving in the same direction as you would when walking forwards. So it only makes sense that you would push the sticks in the same direction for both actions.
So once again inverted should be the norm.If inverted was the default, thats how most would play. Just like on pc, wasd is actaully a bad scheme to use becuse its so limiting but most use it because its default.

How is it limiting?:!::question:
:idea:Functionally, Both schemes perform the same funtions, albeit reversed.:|

I look at the movements as back and forward. With that point of view you're pressing up to move forward and down to move backwards. The only up key for me is the jump key. Down is the crouch key.

inverted y axis, normal for x-axis. Don't know why. I think it comes from my days of playing MS flight sim on the PC.

Explain? I dont see how my viewpoint lends itself more to 2d games. When you move the stick towards the front of the controller your moving the stick forwards, not up. Your character also moves forward when pushing that direction unless your on a ladder.I mainly prefer inverted controls for flyings games...such as Warhawk for example. Normal for every other game.
Inverted. It just seems natural. You are holding a controller and pressing and pushing on sticks. Only natural that if you push forward it goes down and if you pull back it goes up. FPS on consoles are like controlling tanks so it just fits for me. But when I play on PC I don't use inverted.
[QUOTE="ASK_Story"]On consoles, inverted. On PC's normal. Weird, huh.OPuniversenot to me. im like that too. lol
I'm like that too.
