No returning to Returnal?

With all the hype that initially surrounded this game, one would think that a free update with co-op would attract folks but unfortunately, like the games sales, the game has fallen off most gamers' radar. This thread is a friendly reminder for Update 3.0.

Because Hardwenzen no longer talks about it, it seizes to exist. All hope for this game depended on him.

He instead talks about Metroid Dread, which is why that game is more popular and successful.

It's awesome. I played it a little bit when the patch first dropped. Getting a little fatigued on Elden ring after so many days straight on it, and this is right up next in line.

Honestly, Returnal should have been on PC by now so it can get the reception/respect it deserves as it looks to be a fun game to play on. For a true next-gen game, (no cross-gen) Returnal should have been GOTY 2021 contender.

Even though Ascension looks great and despite being free, I doubt anyone will return playing it due to everyone's still playing Elden Ring and such.

Halo Infinite co-op come out yet?

@davillain: Sony is on a streak of bad timing. Two full games released during Elden Ring. One filled with micro transaction and plagued with being online only. And a free update to a very good game during the same time. Lets hope they don't release God of War during the same window as Starfield.

Me and @getyeryayasout are gonna play some co-op one of these days. I only played like a half an hour of the game at launch, and have yet to return… al(I did the same with Deathloop too for some reason) It seemed cool at the time, but didn’t grab me. I blame the BR’s. They‘ve ruined my attention span.

I imagine this game will be a labor of love for the developer, sort of like No Man's Sky, another game no one talks about yet has received tons of updates and added content (for free).

Nothing wrong with that, not everything needs a ticker-tape parade when it gets some DLC.

Given Bethesda vs Sony Santa Montica's recent reputation, I would be more concerned for Starfield if it is released around the same time as GoW. Easy to demonstrate why.

But Halo? Shit they still don't got co-op. You couldn't even choose what game mode to play when that shit dropped, probably still the same now. Shit is unfinished and I find it funny that the dietards are OK with it.

Played the original for 70-80h. I simply cannot take it anymore.

Had enough of returnal. Not sure if they make it easy to get platinum for this game but i have to give up. But its my personal goty last year.

Definitely looks like a great game and probably one that I may get when I get a PS5 but certainly not one I’d get for the $90 CAD that they’re charging for it. That comes out to just a little over $100 after taxes. I think they really screwed up on the pricing for it.

Its like still playing in 720p in 2014 when the ps4 was already released. It is bad.

I’ll tell you a little secret but it flopping had me hopeful we would see a PC version soon. Looks made for that platform.

Now, I came across a PS now subscription really cheap, so that means I’ll play it on PS5 soon when PS Plus super dooper premium launches later this year.

Should they release the game for a good system, like PC, I'm gonna be all over it. Until then, I have no reason to care about it beyond "that's a cool game going to waste".

@Pedro: Releasing anything next to the 10/10 masterpiece Elden Ring is suicide, even if its something like GOW:R (thank god they didn't). No wonder Nintendo chickened out, afraid BOTW 2 would end up with 0 GOTYs. Much safter to postpone until 2023 and win 250 GOTYs without Elden Ring taking 245 of them. As for Returnal, eh. A very solid game. I gave it 7 hours. its intense, immersive has probably the best sound design / sound effects of any video game and graphically its superior to anything on console except Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart..

But I really, really hate Rogues. I gave up on Hades as well. Phenomenal game, just not my cup of tea.

co-op is great... Now just to convince some one IRL to play it with me lol

I really like Returnal. I beat it once, spent well over 40 hours just doing that. The update looks dope, once I'm done with Horizon and Hades I might go back. But with any game, it's hard to go back when so much other stuff has come out.

The Returnal reddit has seen an uptick and people there seem to be really excited about it.

For real this! The gameplay is solid AF, anyone that complains about AAA movie games should give Returnal a try. Housmarque has some arcadey goodness to their games. Pure gameplay bliss

still waiting for a price drop. really want to play it but not until it hits around £40. it's slowly starting to drop from their "optimistic" £69.99 launch price

To be fair... once you move on from a game, sometimes it is hard to get back into it no matter how good the DLC is. This is the issue with late added features.

Just get it used. I got for $50cad about two months after launch, beat it and sold it for $45.

They will release the delayed Halo co-op when it's ready. Just like ND will release the delayed TLOU2 Factions when it's ready.
