Yep, 1440p and 4K are both 60 fps. Xbox X supports 1440p output, perhaps Sony missed the boat on that.

Sony didn't miss the boat on 1440p. They're in the market of manufacturing 4K televisions. They don't want to put their own products at a disadvantage on their own system so if all resolutions are locked to the same frame rate it gives people more reason to buy a 4K TV.
Oh damn, I think you were like a second late :(
About five minutes late, in fact. Pity this forum doesn't seem to have a "merge thread" feature. Ah well.
@xantufrog, @davillain-, you might wanna take a look at this.
It will be just like Tony Hawk probably. They market ps5 ver at 1080p while Xbox 1440p but when Digital Checked the game running on 1440p, but only with compatible 4K tv. Sony those dumbasses decided to not support 1440p monitor so publishers can't really print out deceiving or misleading advertisment.
Just thought about it, XSX has boost in BC. Forgot these are still last gen games.
The way they were talking, these were native versions.
I mean 4K/60... 1440/120... That doesn't really sound like BC.
We shall see, we know all frame rates are variable, clearly in all modes it is up to. Wouldn't be surprised if they are dynamic resolutions.
Allegedly, Sony charges dev/pub to re-certify a PS4 game, look at squadrons.
@Random_Matt: Better luck next time. Don't sweat it, we all can't win'em all. Oh yeah, locking as requested.
