As you can see, Version 5.0 for ARMS will be the last time Nintendo will be supporting ARMS and I'm okay with that, ARMS was one of the good Nintendo Switch games I've played this year. Here's hoping ARMS sold enough copies to greenlight a sequel.

ya I kind of can see why they would be dropping it tbh. ARMSâ„¢ was actually the first game I picked up for the switch and while I do think its a solid game, I feel its a little too simplistic to have the addictive quality needed for a more online focused game. It was good, just not great, I would be okay with them putting their energy into something else now
I mean, hard to complain too much about a free 6 months of content on a game that kind of got lost within a ton of other releases.
Let them expand on the concept for a sequel, because man, that game didn't really have legs. They need some added layers.
It's a good game. I haven't really dug into the new character they launched with 5.0 yet. Nintendo advertised the game as a really deep fighting game, and while it's by no means a casual button masher, it's not as deep as I was hoping it to be. I felt like I had peaked the skill ceiling pretty early. There feels like it has some untapped depth I've not reached yet but overall, it's not too much of a challenge. It's certainly not as deep as I was hoping for it to be but it's still very fun and unique.
They didn't do the game any favors launching it a month before Splatoon 2 though.
seems the money from sales ran out. 1 million sold is still very good. not as good as splatoon. but very good.
i played the test fire and liked it a lot. few months later i bought it. then beat arcade mode in levl4 to unlock ranked mode. tried playing online against people and saw alllll the cheap shit in this game!
1.like the mummy big ball ARM... like you cant jump over it unless you use ribbon girl with the double jump.
2. or the hammer from mechanica. you can not jump over that shit period.
3. the lag/hit detection. sometimes my punches would miss even if they went spot on. happens a lot.
4. and finally... the cheap special abilities each character has! like the new mechaspringman. he has some soundwave shit that disables both your ARMS from a distance! wtf is this? and you can spam it like every 5 seconds. it's stupid. and when both your ARMs are disabled you cant even move to not get grabbed or something.
uninstalled it right after.
@KBFloYd: You're meant to side step those big gloves, not jump them.
ok, so i side step a big glove. now i lose position because i had to move to get out of the way. or what if one ARM is a big glove and the other ARM is a missle? now i have to keep track of what arm to jump and one to sidestep. shit starts to get confusing.
what if i'm tethered like in those party matches? how do i side step there?
Never had any desire to play it. I took one look at the reveal for it and was like... WTF is this shit? Shit like ARMS, 1-2-3 Switch, etc. is exactly what I don't want from Nintendo. Thankfully, SMO and BOTW have redeemed them. Less casual gimmicky bullshit and more core games. I refused to buy the Wii consoles because of all the shit games.
Most fighting games do not get nearly as many updates has arms has had without asking for more money, so i'm happy with that.
Nintendo finally throwing in the towel. I never really understood this game and they tried too hard to force it as a true fighter. This was launch game filler at best.
They aren't actually stopping support with 5.0. That's just the last major update (character/stages). They said they'll still offer balance patches.
I'm still somewhat surprised. It's sudden news.
