@DocSanchez: You do know that Asuka/Kana is a huge fan of the Switch, right?
@FireEmblem_Man: Galaxy's art style was gorgeous but technically, no, something Ninja Gaiden Black was never beaten by any Wii game. Took until WiiU to beat the Xbox/PS2 gen. Still haven't seen a Switch game to beat Crysis/Gears/Uncharted series from the X360/PS3 gen, though I'm sure it'll happen. Just lets not pretend there's any point hyping/waiting/hoping for Nintendo to catch up with the systems of a decade ago.

Okay, so why does it matter to you on graphics? The OG Xbox didn't outsell the PS2 or GC after the life was cut short. Why does it matter if the Switch doesn't have a game that can beat Crysis? No game console can run Crysis in 1080p 60 FPS
@SakusEnvoy: I agree and I'd be okay with the gimped version of a game like Black ops 3 was with 360/PS3. Task another developer with the downgrade and give them all the ingredients and let them put what they can on the Switch. If it can translate well and be something I can play fun on the go or away from home it will have my intrest.
I don't have a lot of faith in the 3rd party devs but all it really takes is one of them to do it and be successful at it and make some money and more will follow.
So Switch owners please for the love of god, if EA, Activision, Ubisoft, any of the big devs make a COD, AC, RB6, Battlefield etc port just buy it and support it so it makes money and devs continue to support the Switch. Even if you don't like it buy it and trade it in or something ? Lol ? ?
As a handheld it's amazing. As a home console it decent enough. Games like Mario kart and splatoon don't really need to look any better than they do already. And as for 3rd party games, who cares? Pretty sure most, if not all switch owners own another console or pc anyway.

Why bother engaging me if you just run away from the point?
This thread is about graphics and power. If you're just gonna bullshit me about it not mattering, don't bother coming into the thread. And go play your Atari 2600, since power doesn't matter.

You already know that the Switch isn't powerful, but you bring up Crysis and I stated that not even consoles can run it.
@SakusEnvoy: if the switch can handle skyrim it can handle cod seriusly that game is not that demanding
@mariokart64fan: Skyrim Switch is basically the last gen version, not the new gen version with a few bells and whistles. It can't even handle a port of an old game that has been remastered. COD will be way beyond it. This is the price of lacking power.
@DocSanchez: The CoD team is amazing though. They ported a 360 game to Wii. Game was pretty fun too.
Imagine a game like Uncharted on the Switch. Tell me that ain't gonna sell you'd be lying. Metroid are ever gonna come back?

IIRC, we don't know the version of Skyrim that the Switch is getting.
And if the Switch is popular, and represents a different segment of the industry than the Sony and MS consoles, then third parties may well force their games onto the system.
The Switch is 3 to 4 times more powerful than the PS3 and 360 (GPU throughput) and has 8 times the memory.
GFLOPS
PS3: 192 GFLOPS
Xbox 360: 240 GFLOPS
Switch (Docked): 668-750 GFLOPS*
RAM
PS3: 256MB XDRAM, 256MB GDDR3
360: 512MB GDDR3 (+10MB eDRAM)
Switch: 4GB LPDDR4
*Realistically, the Switch can only achieve higher performance figures with extensive use of double rate FP16. Unreal Engine 4 is a good example.
LOL! No! Switch has around 400 GFLOPS docked, not 668-750. You're delusional. Tegra in Switch is heavily cut off.
You didn't calculate Mhz, Tegras CUDA cores, flops/cycle cores and so on. And you will get around 400 GFLOPS docked.
EDIT :
Btw. you're numbers are with included double-precision FP16 like the Pro with 4.2 TFLOPS to 8.4?
Yeah I don't know where people are getting these cumpute metrics from, the Wii U was 176 Gigaflops and the Switch in docked mode is roughly twice as capable of the Wii U, so it's not that hard to figure out where it stands, it's just under the 400 Gigaflop margin.
@DocSanchez: You do know that Asuka/Kana is a huge fan of the Switch, right?
She obviously has not seen the Xbox One S... Her mind would be blown if she saw the quality of that system. Maybe you should set me up with her, do you speak Japanese and can translate to her for me? I would love to play two player games with her ;0
I'm still getting over the insane threats made earlier. Thanks for keepin me laughing system wars. Never change.
@FireEmblem_Man: Askua is so hot
Eh... Not really, there are better women who are hotter than Asuka, but she just kicks ass a lot as a Wrestler.
Expect to see Uncharted 3 level of visuals?...
You are confusing a consoles ability vs money, time and talent. No developer or Nintendo them selves to be precise is going to be developing games like that for the Switch... Also have you seen the Mario trailer?... Looks like a upscaled PS2 game.
Power is meaningless if you don't utilise it.
We will see just how powerful the Switch is when Skyrim comes out for it and DF does a video on it.

MS wanted progressive lower price chipset from NVIDIA as process tech matures over time.
Can it handle vectors as well as a vectrex? That's my question. I know it's a handheld so it's up against it.

Crysis can easily run at 1080p 60fps on consoles..... I was pulling over 70fps on a single 7950 Boost edition with AA enabled back in the day.
Crysis has not been GPU bound for years now and if they coded the CPU side of the engine to multithreaded the consoles will be able to run it.
Not to mentions there's games there now that look loads better, certain parts of Crysis have really not aged well (Polly counts, lighting and SSAO)
Jesus, wont someone protect me from Hannibal Lector over there.
By the way, haven't read a single word of that past the first sentence. Getting slightly embarrassing just talking to you.
Why not just buy a Switch so you won't feel so hurt and traumatized? $300 is not THAT expensive, just buy it and be happy. You will have the opportunity to play the best game of all time, Zelda Botw. Once you do that, you will come back to this thread and see how ridiculous your comments have been.
That's strong enough. Last gen games still look good enough.
Although I don't agree that it's "strong enough," I can most definitely agree that the games from last gen still hold up well visually.
Congrats Nintendo. Your next gen system outpowered 12 year old hardware. Maybe their next console will outperform the 2013 WeakBoxOne 5 years from now..
...but it's a handheld. So.....
It's a console....
Lol
While the Nintendo Switch is designed for play both in the home and on the go, Nintendo wants to be clear that it’s a home system first.

There's more then a few instances where Nintendo have stated that it's a console, so yes... lol...
“Nintendo Switch is a home gaming system first and foremost,”the company told Polygon when asked if the system was going to impact the sale of the 3DS portable systems. “We have made no announcement regarding the future of Nintendo 3DS.
"Nintendo Switch is 3 to 4 Times More Powerful Than PS360"
Oooookaaay.
Still, Switch is going to have pretty much Nintendo only games while the X360 has a huge library and servers will be up and running for a long time since X1 BC games are running on them.
Congrats,Nintendos "console" is more powerfull than 10 year old consoles, while STILL being inferior to X1 and PS4.
When Vita came out, people were stumblin' and bumblin' about how powerful it was. Switch makes it eat shit, but it's being compared to current consoles, for some stupid reason...
The Switch is console first and foremost. The portability is just a technological kicker to give it an advantage and some bragging rights despite not being at top performance when undocked. How tf are you trying to compare a fully fledged console, a current gen one at that, to a PS Vita? It makes no sense. You're trying to save face because after all that hype your Switch ain't got shit on our current generation of consoles and only has Zelda, Pokémon, and Mario. Skyrim on the Switch is gonna be a steaming pile of shit lmao. Nintendo is gonna so get exposed lol
@scatteh316: Sure... If the marketing material says so, it must be true.
All I'm saying is: If it looks like a handheld, has the form factor of a handheld, and performs like a handheld - it's a handheld. The fact that you can copy the output to a TV doesn't change that for me.
It's all good though. They can call it whatever they want. It's all just meaningless labels meant to create a public perception with the ultimate goal of sales. It is what it is - the Nintendo Switch.
