I'll tell you why, they have no more original ideas, instead recycling old ones like Super Mario in the Middle East 3 and Zelda: More boomerangs. They were the cutting edge of gaming in the late 80's-90s but now they thrive of millions of fanboys who grew up with these games as well as people who think the Wii is an effective excersise tool when jogging or swimming is more effective and doesn't cost hundreds of dollars. Sure there are some worthwhile games (as my dp will attest)but Nintendo mostly vomits the same, overused formula time and time again.

Ok now I'm ready to be abused by fanboys.

which is why Playstation Move is a blatant copy/paste.

and Project Natal not being much different. other than eliminating a controller.

yeah, Zelda/Mario/Metroid are used a lot, but they change across a number of genres(Mario) or have a drastic change in general to keep the games fresh. And as I said above, they clearly have the better ideas in terms of hardware if the weakest console is getting me-too'ed by the more powerful PS3/360 consoles.

Which is more innovative then the Wii.

Will have better tracking than the Wii.

Will have better graphics than the Wii.

Will also be included in hardcore games (well atleast for Sony).

Mario is, of course, hallucinating that there's a flying koopa in front of him because the sun it's so hot. I mean just look at that sun!

innovative? too far of a stretch there.

tracking, right now, no(Move is at 1.33 ms lag, Natal is around the same). Finished product before you can have a fact. Before I go too far, MotionPlus is 1:1 response time, so, if correct, cannont be 'beaten' there at all.

yes, but Wii HAS proven graphics don't make the games. but since you are strictly on graphics, yeah, I suppose

Mario/Zelda/Metroid are considered hardcore:?

Wow do you see those textures! And those character models are just so exquisite. That physics engine must be something else if it is able to handle something as big as the sun going up and down across the screen.

Im not even going to mention all of the enemies on-screen. Console graphics king confirmed!

Recipe for instant hardcoredom:

1) Copy Wii Boxing's core design.

2) Get rid of Miis. Characters must look like douche... I mean, macho men.

3) Make it all brown and gray. Primary colors are teh kiddie.

4) ???

5) PROFIT!!!

...

Actually, scratch that "brown" part. Gray should suffice.

If Mario was in the Middle East and had access to a semi-automatic weapon then I might change my opinion about Nintendo, but I'm tired of all the jump on mushroom people gameplay. And the less said about Zelda the happier I am. Because it'sa stupidhead.

And yet they still are manufacturing hardware and creating games. They may not be forward-thinking when it comes to game design, but they do what is comfortable for them. Its our fault we hold them to such high standards.

When it comes to games, I agree. They haven't put out a good and original tittle in years. I don't find The Wii and DS controls innovative either. But sales wise, they are still relevant.

they're still better than most out there at making good gameplay tho

i guess it's an unnecessary art nowadays, gameplay and all that :P

I believe the Sega 32x came first, 1994. and the Mega-CD, 1991

as a stand-alone, the PS1 was the first to use disc without an add-on, but there was previous optionality. I think.

cartridges weren't necessarily inferior btw.

TC im going to be honest here. I feel that all you have proven here is that majority of American gamers have some sort of blood lust and nothing more. your rly not helping that image improve. is it that hard for you to play at least one game this gen without, blood guts or guns? if it is, then you have an issue as well as many other people here.

I'm not starting up a Nintendo v Sony post, it's more a where did Nintendo go wrong/ why are other gaming comapanies so far ahead in terms of innovation. Sure they have the Wii and DS but they don't improve upon them significantly. Microsoft and Sony both bring out new hardware while Nintendo doesn't change.

Okay... I'll play along... please give me a list of firsts that Sony ushered into the console space. I'm waiting.

Remeber Eye-toy? Sony consoles were the first to use discs instead of cartridges, they had games like Croc, Abe's Oddysee, Resident Evil (I'm not sure who owns it now though).

You need to do your homework... Sony was NOT the 1st to use compact discs.

Not sure if any system b4 the PS2 had a "eyetoy" equivalent though.... I know there was a similar device in production for the Dreamcast.

I'm not starting up a Nintendo v Sony post, it's more a where did Nintendo go wrong/ why are other gaming comapanies so far ahead in terms of innovation. Sure they have the Wii and DS but they don't improve upon them significantly. Microsoft and Sony both bring out new hardware while Nintendo doesn't change.

well. let them repeat this offense twice before judging them.

The Wii was the first time they were the most inferior console in terms of power. The DS has variations, because it isn't a new generation yet.
