bu but fall guys

bu...but 100million sold...lol

https://gonintendo.com/stories/367472-japan-s-richest-company-of-2020-is-none-other-than-nintendo-co

890.4 billion yen (approx. 8.3 billion USD) in cash makes Nintendo Co., Ltd. the richest 2020 company in Japan, according to a financial analysis by Risk Masters. Despite arguably having a slow software turnout this year, Nintendo Switch hardware sales, alongside the launch of Animal Crossing: New Horizons in March, helped to provide Nintendo with some undoubtedly major overall success. This year gives Nintendo a step up in the rankings from 2019, where the company was reportedly placed in second.

Looking at the last 2 Nintendo Directs, it felt almost like they're on welfare, not the richest in Japan.

Your threads are embarrassing. Sad damage control over the Switch being on its last legs when Sony and Microsoft are releasing new hardware and you know you have to endure another 3 to 4 years of this.

Face it, Sony isn't a Japanese company anymore, they've become a Western entertainment division with Playstation.

Congrats to Nintendo but useless analytics for us. What's the point of having cash at hand if they don't use it, its rarely a good business strategy.

Lol almost hit but unfortunately that just how it works. As a company sitting on cash that is available to be use is not a good strategy. I mean in case you don't know Sony have at least $30b cash at hand, toyota, Honda even more but they have liabilities unlike Nintendo which not doing anything with the money.

Yep, they could have used some of those money for R&D, develop your fav game or invest in studios or internet insfrastructure but too bad they rather have all these cash at bank they not gonna touch.

OP is just pissed Ghost of Tsushima is as good as any of the Switch’s best games. No clever title will change that.

That's a leap. GoT is a great game, but it suffers from OWS like so many other games this gen, and frankly it's a boring and tired formula.

It doesn't come close to the better Switch titles out there.

Lazy ass company. I miss the GameCube/GBA days when they released masterpiece after masterpiece.

All this money and this is what we get from said company in 2020. But then again, what does it matter when the majority of Switch owners are kids that simply don't know any better? And the adults that do own it, for some reason refuse to criticize the system they own for a chance of improvement. To me, that is such a childish mentallity. I sure as hell remember being like that during the N64, Xbox and early days of the 360. No better examples than the Nintendo online infrastructure. If Nintendo owners bitched about it, this is a thing Nintendo would've fixed during the WiiU era (if not earlier), but because being negative about certain aspects of an item you own is a nono, the online is as shitty as XBL in 2004. But hey! Nintendo is rich, you can sleep swell tonight and enjoy your games on Ultra Low settings, in 18fps and 540-720p in 2020.

The original article says "excluding financial institutions (banks, securities companies, insurance companies, etc.), and companies that apply IFRS (the International Financial Reporting Standards)." This means almost all global companies based in Japan, such as Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba, Canon, SoftBank, Sumitomo, etc. have been excluded from the ranking. Worthless.

Yes, they are rich and have no debt, and not hiring that many people. I don't know what Nintendo want to do to save so much cash, but maybe that's how they have survived over 100 years.

Makes sense. That would explain it then. If Sony is excluded, then there's no real comparison to be made here.
