Nintendo has no Place in the Console Market . Convince Me Otherwise.

Now listen, I’ve been playing for a very long time. I’ve been a gamer for over 30 years. Here’s the thing, the more and more I play my PS4, the more and more I realize Nintendo doesn’t know what the f they’re doing. They got no place, no place in the market. And with the PS5 coming, how can they survive? They should literally just copy Sony since they’re perfect in every way, and provide the undisputed standard in gaming when it comes to driving the medium forward.

Well, they already are in the console space and they have been in this market longer than both Sony and Microsoft, in fact.

55 million hardware sales in 3 years tells us otherwise. That's more than the Xbox one that released in 2013.

Their games are compelling enough I get Nintendo's systems for their first party alone, I won't fault them for not making systems to supplant my needs for Microsoft and Sony consoles. Same goes for the other consoles.

Nintendo is good, appeals to a different audience with their games. More family friendly games for that console too compared to Xbox and PlayStation which are geared for a more mature customer base.

I think its nice that Nintendo no longer competes directly. I buy PC or PS games but still able to enjoy occasional Switch offerings since usually the games were either exclusives or mobile/indie ports that I would have never take interest in if its on other consoles.

Hope devs and nintendo actually do release new content instead of ports regularly though. Less Mario would be even more amazing.

If they had no place in the market, they'd fail and be out of the market. Simple as that.

They've had their ups and downs over the years, but they've maintained, and right now they're riding a high. So no.

It's absolutely possible for you to enjoy your Sony consoles and not be concerned with what Nintendo is up to.

Nintendo has a place in the market right now. In fact, it is experiencing the Wii years again but with better third-party support and helped by the effects of the coronavirus epidemic.

Why be concerned over Nintendo if you are only concerned with what Sony offers?

Nintendo is currently dominating the console market. It's idiotic to suggest that they are irrelevant.

Yeah, i recently noticed Nintendo overall sales and I couldn’t believe the numbers. Over 55 million sold. I have a switch and i just havent paid attention because on the Nintendo side you dont hear the roaring from gamers like you do with gamers on the ps4 and xbox side.

Anyway, after talking about the switch all say today, now i feel like playing it.

Actually, the console market needs them. If after 30 years you haven't noticed that they don't directly compete with your counter examples, then you're only showing that MS and Sony marketing is working on you.

No offense tc but just because some of the Nintendo franchised games don't appeal to doesn't negate their place as a console maker.

Breath of the wild is arguably the best open world game ever made...

Bayonetta 2 is arguably one of the best hack n slash action games ever made...
