Ninja Gaiden 3 to only have swords in SP!

We got a chance to talk with head of Team Ninja, Yosuke Hayashi about Ninja Gaiden 3 and we asked that since the focus of the game will be Ryu's Katana and other swords as far as weapons go, will we possibly see other weaponry that made series so enjoyable. To which Hayashi San answered "Yes that is correct, but during the game you do get new swords, but the weapons themselves wont change, they will always be swords." and he continued with "But for the multiplayer gaming there will be more than just swords so you can focus on the cutting down of foes." So basically, strictly sword fighting for Ryu this time but the multiplayer will have different weapons to ensure mayhem and limbs are flying.

This makes me sad, especially since I never use the Dragon Sword, especially since I know it automatically turns into the True Dragon Sword later on, I hardly ever use it, but now theyre forcing me :/, this is disappointing

What the hell is with this gen. EVERYTHING has to have Multiplayer. Next they'll anounce God of Wr 4 with Multiplayer. :roll:

Tonfa and kusarigama are ninja weapons though.

Maybe there will be some extra sword DLC

I strongly dislike forced mp, but it can definitely work amazing in some cases. No one would have thought the Assassin's Creed games could have such stellar multiplayer, and Uncharted really blew my expectations away with its mp, so I'm not going to write this off.

Team Ninja seems to be going out of their way in making this game suck.

No Lunar Staff?:| This news, combined with all of the Ninja Blade quick time events pretty much confirms that I really have no more interest in this game at all. However, I still may rent it one day just to see for myself. As of now, it is looking like a once mighty series is being butchered.

Wow. Every little bit of news that comes out for this game makes it sound worse.

Edit: And DS is still the best game this gen ;) I want a PC version of Dark Souls really bad!

This game just keeps getting worse and worse. Just make a new series if you literally want to change everything good about it.

agreed, everytime i hear news about the game it turns out to be something crap. i wish they just use the ninja gaiden2/ sigma 2 engine and mechanics and just create new levels

I don't know what to say! One of the things I loved about the NG series was the great variety of weapons it had. This is very disappointing to hear.

I'm glad I have an open mind about all games. I'm not about to condemn a game when I hardly know anything about it.

yes i want a rehash. a rehash is much better than wat ive seen so far. they are casuallizing the game. ninja gaiden has always been for the hardcore im not pleased with how ninja gaiden 3 is looking from the demos. even the new devil may cry demos are more impressive than ninja gaidens 3

Anyone who has played NG2 knows how far the series has fallon from the fantastic NG. I am not expecting much from NG3.
