At a surprise press conference at the Honolulu Park Hyatt late last night, Microsoft and Konami participated in a joint press conference that will undoubtedly send shockwaves throughout the gaming industry. Taking to the podium within the 4,109 seat "Papaya Press Pavilion", Microsoft's John Schappert and legendary game producer Hideo Kojima together announced the development of Microsoft's successor to the Xbox 360, now known to be the Microsoft "NextBox".
"We had planned to save this announcement for this year's E3" stated Schappert "but the guys at Blizzard kinda stole our thunder and besides, we couldn't think of a better time than now to reveal the TRUE future of gaming - The Microsoft NextBox." So why might Kojima be on hand for a Microsoft-themed press conference you ask? Schappert continued, "We're honored to make this announcement in conjunction with Hideo Kojima himself in order to reveal that our next console is being built from the ground up with one purpose in mind - to run the next title in the Metal Gear Solid series." To do this, the NextBox will contain four new proprietary processors known as the Super Elite Logarithmic Logic, or "SELL" processors.
WOW.
Microsoft just took the only thing the PS3 had and ran with it. And Hideo.
