New MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries gameplay footage

We recently got a new Battletech trailer and now a new MechWarrior 5 trailer. Great I was just thinking when the next trailer will come out. This trailer shows off some of the different biomes you'll play in at launch. It appears they polished up the destruction a bit, the buildings getting shot up at 0:30 - 0:37 look more natural and seamless.

For those that don't know this already MechWarrior 5 will have VR support, mod support and 4 player coop.

Really looking forward to this game, I loved Battletech long before it was ever a video game and this year not only are we, at long last, getting a new RTS Battletech but a new Mechwarrior game as well (hopefully).

The way 2018 is shaping up we'll get Squadron 42 at the end of the year to make it near perfect :)

Glad to see they polished the mech animations, they were pretty rough in previous footage, especially if you consider Mechwarrior Online's aren't nearly as bad. The canyon looked lovely. As a big MWO lover I hope some of the destruction and effects are eventually ported over.

@Postosuchus: MechWarrior Online runs on CryEngine 3 while MechWarrior 5 will be on Unreal Engine 4 so I don't think they can port the destruction over. I hope they polish up the graphics some more. The first reveal footage looks a bit better than this.

Mech games just feel archiac...

That's what I like about them. It feels like a lumbering mechanical machines, compared to the Japanese ones where them being giant robots is inconsequential.

This just feels like bullshit to me. I don't know, perhaps it's been let down after let down throughout the years. If this is as good as it looks, great, but I'm not holding my breath.

If this is another online MP mech game? Forget it. If it's SP-focused? Count me in.
