Need some advice should I keep my PS4 pre order or switch to Xbox One?

Honestly, I just want the next gen console that will have the largest community, I was a ps3/360 owner this gen but due to my busy life and funds I would rather spend elsewhere, I am just planning on owning only one next gen console. I just pre ordered a ps4 from Best Buy online last night, but after sleeping on it I am worried I shoud switch back to Xbox One just because of the community.  The ps3 had a decent sized community this gen but clearly Xbox Live was larger, but the ps4 has some great online features now too. Need any advice.....  Which console do you think will have the largest community? The ps4 does have that 100 price difference so that could be a factor in community numbers as well....

If your that worried about making an ill informed purchase....dont buy at launch. Give the consoles a few months at least and get some first hand opinions and the opinions of print media. Then buy.

Getting or upgrade a PC would be money better spent. If you absolutely have to get a console then go for the PS4.

All the signs so far are pointing to the PS4 having the much larger user base so I wouldn't be concerned about that. If online gaming is the most important thing to you, then you might want to wait for a while and see how things pan out. MS have traditionally provided a better online experience than Sony with more stable performance, less downtime, more features and better integration of those features. That doesn't mean that Sony's online infrastructure will be bad next gen, but you will know more once the consoles have been out for a few months. Also might be worth waiting to see where the people you normally play online with end up, if they all decide to stick with MS then that could make paying the extra for the One worth it. Personally online MP isn't a big deal to me, so the PS4 is the obvious choice, but each to their own :)JamDev

In America, they will probably be pretty even this gen. Outside of America, expect an advantage to the PS4 (except maybe in UK).

The choice is extremely easy, if you like playing online, x1 is the right choice. When it comes to online, x1 is in another league, same with 360, same with the original xbox. Sony is a full gen behind (PS3 still has VOIP problems, lol, they are using skype to communicate, PSN is garbage) So, you think The Division, Battlefield 4, Destiny, Battlefront etc looks good, do the smart thing and get the x1. Multiplats are always better on xbox AND they have superior online AND for most people, the superior controller for shooters. If you like singleplayer games only, look up the exclusives and choose the one with the better games for you.

get the xbox one, far more evolved company when it comes to online, innovation in gaming, and overall games. cant go wrong lot more value punched in with the xbox one with kinect, IPTV functionality, and dedicated servers for every game. Dude dont make the mistake of going with the PS4, you will regret it....

so true, xbl is going to be light years ahead of PSN this gen too, microsoft is a software company, obviously SOny is a hardware. how could anyone be forced to pay for PSN that garbage hackable network... is beyond me.

If you have a confirmed day-one pre-order, don't cancel anything.  Pre-order X1 and then sell the other to somebody who wants it.  

I'm sure you can find a friend, neighbor, sex offender, etc. nearby who'd be willing to buy the pre-order off you for $50.

being a huge ps3 fan, i instinctively preordered a ps4. but upon seeing sony humiliating themselves at e3 i immediately switched to the Microsoft Xbox One. in the end, i'm glad i didn't let fanboyism cloud my judgement.

I guess if you could only go with one, I would choose the PS4. There are many contributing factors in doing so. Right out of the gate though the mere fact that it is a $100 less, makes a-lot of sense and their exclusives in the long term, hands down,, choose PS4. Personally I pre-ordered both. I pre-ordered the PS4 first though and did not budge with Xbox until they decided to reverse their policies. Even when they first announced their policy change, I still had to really consider do I want to still throw my money  at a company that tried to royally screw me, just days prior? In the end though I am a gamer, and pre-ordered to be able play DR3, Ryse, and Titanfall. I am paying off both pre-orders, games ans accesories within the next 3 months. Maybe this is  viable option for you as well. Pay off a chunk at a time and be able to get both consoles, if your that undecided. Once again though, if you could only choose one go with the PS4!
