Need for Speed: Payback looks like a Michael Bay racer, and that's great.

I'll start off by saying EA is not paying me to say any of this.

The footage I've seen of this game points to it being a MB racer. It's just flash, the racing is alright, nothing fancy. But it's about crazy shit. Epic music. Crazy explosions. Lame story and characters. Absolutely nothing redeemable about it, but that's the best thing.

There's too much sim shit going on. Like, what's the last racer we had that was like this? Not even the reboot of Need for Speed. Honestly, someone let me know, I can only go so no, Motorstorm: Apocalypse. That one. Don't know if we had any after that. Let me know, and I'll let you know if it belongs in the Michael Bay racer genre.

But yeah, I was playing Need for Speed: The Run, which is exactly what I want when me is talking about Michael Bay racers. That shit.

Honestly, play it. It's fucking awesome, unless you're a self proclaimed critic, whose biggest achievement in life, is telling people a game is bad, on the internet. The Run's alright.

But seriously, is anyone looking forward to Payback? I really hope it's THAT kind of racer.

EA: the company can even turn racing games into cinematic QTE.

I love Micheal Bay movies so this all sounds great to me.

Sounds fun, but I rather play Forza 7.

It does actually look pretty cool... will definitely check it out at some stage.

Payback looks neat and does remind me of The Run. Should be cool if they gave it the time and budget it needed.

Yeah the game looks fun but I got burned hard on the last NFS, I tried to like it but I just couldn't

Took me about 5 minutes to load into the main menu. 10 minutes to load the game. And then a final 5 minutes to get out of the garage onto the streets. I just wanna race goddammit!

I dont know, something about it isnt grabbing me. Im going with the Crew 2 instead. I can get lost easier in the Crews map just checking out different landmarks across the nation.

I, cant even begin to wrap my head around boats and planes yet lol. I'll fly, or sail, under that bridge when the time comes.

I feel you when you're talking about the run as I thought it was ok and the last race was hectic, but the new NFS looks like a FF ripoff and Ghost Games last 2 NFS games have been average to say the least.

The acting in the last game is worse than that of a porno, and both games open worlds were empty and boring, so I have no faith in this one.

Having said that I will still buy it (later down the road) because i'm a racing addict :P

Arcadey actiony racers are the bestest. Sim racers bore the shit out of me. NFS is awesome, but the last good one was a long time ago now. Since the first version of Most Wanted, I haven't bothered with the series.

If it has crazy in depth customization and is not locked to 30 fps on PC, I may pick it up when it's cheap. That 30 fps lock shit is so damn annoying.

The Run is still one of my personal favorite games to this day. That race where you coming down a mountain and that last race was intense as well. If payback has just as many moments I'm in.

I just wanna race - no story, no cutscenes, no QTEs. I was reading a preview for this around E3, and the writer was talking about wanting to learn more about the characters and see them developed. I nearly threw up.

I'll still probably get this when it's cheap though. Hopefully there's an arcade mode or something where you can just race.

I actually like NFS 2015 even though it had some huge problems, that could've easily been fixed and EA should be slapped for it. This is one series I wouldn't mind releasing annually - seeing as how we're probably never getting a new Burnout or Midnight Club.

Self proclaimed critic here. The game is bad. Too low brow for my refined tastes.

I haven't played it, or even watched a video, but I'm certain it's a 4.78/9.9 (no game is perfect so a 10 is impossible.)

I prefer intellectual racing games. Like Mario Kart.

Why would I want my racer to be all flash with no substance? That is what a Michael Bay movie is. No thank you.

Is it too much to ask, but can I get a remake of Porsche Unleashed. That was the game that created my love of that brand, and it's been almost 20 years since that game came out, and lots of new Porsches have graced our world.

Same. Crew 1 is better compared to the last NFS game. Payback just looks like The Crew set in the Nevada part. And lets face it, a Fiat monster truck is so much cool.

The only Porsche that is even worth speaking about are Panameras and Carrera GT, everything else can go to a trash compactor, Porsche 911 this 911 that, 911 doesn't even look good!

And it actually had probably the best narrative out of any racing game on top of having awesome innovative gameplay.

EA is obviously going for a story-focused NFS now, but it seems the gameplay is taking a massive hit for it.

I feel like whatever Payback is trying to do was done better by GTA 5.
