On pc people sub because of $1 promotions🤡On consoles people don't want to sub because they had only one game for 2022, and that was Starfield, which they decided to delay to 2023. Why would you sub to GP? If its $1, then who cares, a cup of coffee is more expensive, but $15 or whatever they're asking on the xbox, that's just a waste of money.

How the hell is it something we never hear being mentioned? I see free games being included with gpu and such, but this is the first time i hear of GP being included with mostly everything.

True. MS should do it like Sony. Sony gives everyone a free trial of PS+/Extra/Premium. You can use it on as many accounts as you want. But Sony is smart to do that, it helps inflate their numbers.

Personal Computing is correct. Under which are Windows, Devices, Gaming, and Search & News Advertising.

Devices refers to MS Surface, Holo lens, etc.

Gaming is Xbox HW and Xbox Content/Services which are reported separately.

@Bengie: All large companies hide earnings by product because many costs like sales & marketing, R&D, and corporate functions like Finance, HR, etc. are not allocated. The most you get is gross or operating margin at the divisional, unit, etc. level. The same applies to Sony.

I'm telling you MS wants to get out of the console business. They're using Xbox consoles to start up their services which will eventually make Xboxes irrelevant. PC gamepass is doing better than Xbox gamepass and I'm sure they'll add a mobile gampass when they get their store running.

Well, they delayed Starfield, before another delay for late 2023 release.

I suspect Starfield will get scrapped, and end up like Scalebound.

Xbox is a service, and MS will flow with the direction of whatever platform customers flock to, and provide that service. Whether its xbox, or PC, or mobile, its all xbox gaming. The xbox brand has always been about accessibility, so everyone who wants to play can play at an affordable entry. This is the whole point of the xbox series S, and now the mobile gamepass sticks.

I’m a Game Pass Ultimate sub, but only a sub of the second tier of PS+. I don’t understand why we can’t separate personal preferences and discussions surrounding strategies in the market place. Game Pass seems like nothing more than a goodwill, “pro consumer” gimmick to me. I want the power and the library we had during the 360 era. An era that if it weren’t for RROD, Xbox would have handily beat PlayStation. But since then, it’s been this gimmick and that gimmick, with no real impact on the brand

Using multiple accounts, you can do exactly the same thing regarding multiple uses of trial subscriptions on both GamePass and PS Plus.

The dualSense is very gimmicky, sure. I don't believe VR is a gimmick though. It has a pretty big impact on immersion and scale in games.
