I don't understand what I'm seeing here. Steam's Friend-list?waynehead895
[QUOTE="comeonthehoops"]Brilliant. Why can't PC gamers stick to a boycott? Same thing happened with L4D2...Ontainbecause it's easier to click a button than have self control. I have self control, I didn't buy it. :o Maybe they thought if they show Activision, hey, we play you're game, and we're unhappy, it would be better then not playing it at all, and Activision thinking "they aren't even going to play, why change it for them". There is an obvious reaction of "lol! their playing even though they boycotted" but there could be more to it.

I have a few PC gamer friends that aren't getting it, but they seem to think IW will add dedicated servers in a patch.
oh what a shame. well you can always make a private server!Yeah, this boycott was never going to work. It's a shame, but that's life.

who say's all the boycotter's joined that group. I didn't. and I did not buy the game...instead i get to play it free ;] while console nancies get no mods or dedicated server's have to pay to play online and 60 dollars for the game bwahahah!
Hehehe.i hear 9 PC gamers actually boycotted it. making it the most successful PC boycott in history

I just took this today:
I think this meme needs to die. Keep in mind that this is only the first 50 users out of 881 (the number has grown despite the group mod removing people playing MW2).
Didn't people already hack it?
I've seen/heard PC gamers talking about how people have basically shown IW how big of a joke their IWnet is by doing everything it was supposed to prevent.
I didn't buy the game myself, then again I never boycotted because I really didn't care. One lost sale isn't going to make a difference. Oh no with my purchase they would've made $550,000,065.16 dollars intead!
Yeah that's the front page of the group which only shows people who are in game. Only about the 1st 2 pages are in game and only about 1/2 of them are even playing MW2. If you scroll through the other 16 pages of players you'll see that only a handful of people actually bought the game.

Misleading pictures ftw...
I wonder how many of those copies are pirated. Just because they're playing it doesn't mean they bought it.
How can you guys say that boycott wasn't a success? Cause a couple of people are playing it online on steam?
Here in the UK MW2 PC version sold 53k while the X360 version sold over 1 million copies. That means that the Xbox version sold almost 19 times more copies than the PC version.
53000 sales for the PC version is a total disaster for one of the biggest games of the year. That's EPIC FAIL
Out of the 56 people currently playing a game, one is playing MW2. If that's consistent across the group, that means 16 out of the 886 people have given in.Yeah that's the front page of the group which only shows people who are in game. HAHAHAHA this is one of the most ironic things I've ever seen
Half the people on that list are playing MW2, so they bought it.
FAIL.
Those numbers mean nothing when we don't have anything relevant to compare them to, or the digital distribution sales. How can you guys say that boycott wasn't a success? Cause a couple of people are playing it online on steam?

Half of the first 50 out of over 850 people are playing MW2? Wow, that's like, almost 3 percent!HAHAHAHA this is one of the most ironic things I've ever seen

Hmm what? I am comparing them to the Xbox version, how else can I compare them???
Fact is 53k sales are really bad for the hype the game got. Just look at the console sales, Xbox 1 million sold, PS3 720k sold, PC 53k. Both console version sold nearly 2 million compared to 53k for the PC version. That's just FAIL, no matter which way you look at it.

What if a typical PC release sells 10k copies a month in the UK? What if CoD4 only sold 30k in its first week? What if digital distribution sales adds another 30k?[QUOTE="Mitjastiskovski"][QUOTE="InsaneBasura"] Those numbers mean nothing when we don't have anything relevant to compare them to, or the digital distribution sales.InsaneBasura

The only big came you can compare MW2 is WOW and when new expanction come out for that game, it sells alot more than 53k, thats for sure.
