And still 1 third of Sony's games division, lol.
hah yea it starts at 8 million, didn't notice that. very sneaky
Oh yeah, they tend to do graphs like that. Seems like it's doubled, but actually it's only a 3 billion increase.
Thats the weird thing. If we talk gamepass, we already got reports that PSNow is owning 50% of that market and if its games, spidey alone does better than all xbox one exclusive this year. I mean its not I am disbelieving but not even Nintendo is capable to do this number currently. It may be due to Azure or else that is lumped together with the game division, but anyhow I am glad there is competition.
Yeah man, competition is healthy. But honestly I'm more interested in MS now that they bring all their games over to PC.
If you're asking for things like Xbox only numbers or how this makes Xbox better........why bother asking when nothing anyone can say will change your mind.
This proves Xbox has gotten better and will continue to get better. It says Xbox isn't going to just quit and give up like so many think they should, as if Xbox was the one who killed their console when it topped at 15 million units and killed all 3rd party support and did jack shit for several months at a time....that was Nintendo, and in less than 2 year almost completely matched what Sony has done in Japan in 6 years.
The only 2 companies with failed hardware in 8th gen is Sony and Nintendo. So if anyone got kicked out of a market, it was Sony and Nintendo. Yet somehow what Xbox has done is the only thing people want to claim as the only loser thing that has happened while PSVR is around there somewhere.
And still 1 third of Sony's games division, lol.
How much of Sony's games division money do you reckon they spend on the other parts of the company that's not doing so good???
@i_p_daily: zero since each division is its own entity and has their own operating budgets. And last I checked only their mobile division was struggling to keep up with the other Sony orgs.
Microsoft seems to be doing decent in something and it seems that Sony players have a serious case of ass itch? Why the heck it would bother other console gamers that Xbox gaming is a little bit more revenue then the other two. I would think it's good for gamers in general, wouldn't it? ?To be honest,I'm not a fan of Nintendo kiddish looking games, but would still be pleased if Nintendo made a conciderable large profit/revenue,as hopefully Sony as well?
Where in this thread was it stated that MS' gaming division was profitable? They only release revenue information. Yet the quote is talking about profits, of which we have no info on. So clearly profit was confused with revenue. I mean it sounded like an honest mistake, but it did happen. No big deal.
So in other words no one equated revenue to profits. Gotcha. I mean its an honest mistake to think other people were confused because you were confused. No big deal.
Only an idiot would believe Microsoft was losing money. Game industry is thriving... I'd love to be in last place for sales, laughing all the way to the bank.
Game industry is thriving yet a lot of companies still shut down last year:
Visceral Games
Telltale games
Capcom Vancouver
among many others

I mean i that's how you want to read it, I won't stop you.
@R4gn4r0k: indeed... unfortunately it's not so rosey on the developer side of things. The market is so cutthroat and fans have established their biases.... couple that with the rediculous cost of a single game development, it's just too volatile for some developers.
Less risk and more opportunities to sell services on the platform side.
Scary thing is MS still has XCloud and GamePass(PC) coming into play which should boost it more along with all the new studios pumping new content out.

How long before Amazon, and Google, replace S&N? lol :P

That's how I would describe it: a really prosperous, yet risky business.

And your point is?
So now we're talking about profits? Love how the goalposts always move for MS fans.
Nah, we talking revenue.

You were confused. Its an honest mistake. Don't make it a big deal.
Not trying to, hence "I won't stop you." So whatevs...
thats my belief as well, really great service that is consistent revenue as is live.
I wish game pass was better on PC. Right now it's a treat for Xbox users.
If it would get every MS exclusive from now on, including Age of Empires IV, I might get it.

C'mon man tell me you're not that naïve. The money goes into Sony's bank account, not a playstation account lol. Yes while each has its own operating budgets its foolish to think that Sony wouldn't use profits from other parts of the company to help prop up another.

Even if, all other divisions are profitable except one. And it's not like their mobile division is going bankrupt. Sony is not in financial trouble. Neither of them are.
