Phil Spencer: We've done experiments with Realtime Raytracing. A ton of potential with this tech, amazing visuals.

What is Realtime Raytracking?

In computer graphics, ray tracing is a technique for generating an image by tracing the path of light through pixels in an image plane and simulating the effects of its encounters with virtual objects. The technique is capable of producing a very high degree of visual realism, usually higher than that of typical scanline rendering methods, but at a greater computational cost. This makes ray tracing best suited for applications where the image can be rendered slowly ahead of time, such as in still images and film and television visual effects, and more poorly suited for real-time applications like video games where speed is critical. Ray tracing is capable of simulating a wide variety of optical effects, such as reflection and refraction, scattering, and dispersion phenomena (such as chromatic aberration).

Microsoft said "4K gaming will be possible in the future"

Ray tracing and Tiled resources will bring this future.

Sony will continue trying to squeeze graphics and framerate to keep up but will be passed 10 fold.

What the hell? You just Google'd "ray tracing" and picked a bunch of screenshots that were rendered on the PC, without citing the sources. And it says nothing about them experimenting this "tech" on the Xbox One.

If you actually had a clue of what Tile resources would be for,you would not be saying such stupid sh**.

Tile Resources has nothing to do with the xbox one GPU been capable of achieving 4K,the damn console can barely do 1080p let alone 4k,some of you are delusional fanboys.

The xbox one will probably have some cheap ass effect to try to emulate it,Ray tracing is very expensive and can be use basically in few small areas,it still is to costly even for stronger cards on PC.

You can go through those clouds,they are volumetric real time ray traced clouds my blind fanboy friend and i put more than 200 hours on warhawk,owner since day 1.

Killzone Shadowfall has real time ray tracing and like I've said a billion time, the PS4 supports tiled resources EXACTLY like the Xbox One.
