lemmings talk about it like its one of the best games out. so ............................ exactly how far into it before it actually starts to get good? im guessing im about 3 hours into it.

If you're 3 hours into it and still don't find it even slightly fun, stop playing. It's not for you.
i used to think it was boring too. but then i replayed it, did a lot of the sidequests, mixed up my biotics, and it became my second favorite WRPG of this gen right behind Fallout 3. also TC, i doubt you've even played it.
I dislike the game and yes i found it a tad dull and very repetative but im am going to replay it VERY soon just to give it another try and justify my intial opinion.
This time perhaps i will enjoy it tho lets see.
Im a fan of Neverwinters Nights, Baldurs Gates so in theory this should appeal to me.
There's a lot of dialogue, so that may be what you find boring. Much of the story is told through the characters explaining things, then with some cut-scenes here and there. It works very well for the game, but I understand if some people find it boring.
The problem is, the game has quite a bit to do in it so for it to get interesting for you it could take anywhere from five to ten to twenty hours before you're interested. If you enjoy the gameplay, I'd say keep pushing through and you'll get to a moment in the game where you'll start enjoying the story and the game in its entirety. But if its not interesting to you, I'd say don't bother with it. There are just some popular games that many love that others will criticize.
I don't understand why some of you are calling him a troll. Now because someone has an opinion and you don't agree with it it's just wrong and is considered trolling?crazy-player
Honestly I enjoyed the game from beginning to end. It is one of my favorite games of all time. At no point was I bored (well maybe on some of the sidequests ;) ).
But that is just my opinion. So you didn't like the game? Fine. You are also entitled to your opinion. But why post it here, of all places? You know people are going to call you a troll and flame you.

he's obviously doing it to start a flame war. he's basically calling lemmings out. but if a lemming called out a PS3 game, it would be considered "trolling". i did it, and got suspended for it.LeGoofyGoober

you doubt he's played it, why? because it's impossible that anyone who's play the game could possibly dislike it? i can easily see why someone might think ME is boring.
dont worry TC, i agree i found it to be quite boring, and i gave it a good couple hours...though i find mostly all wrpg's to be very boring i suppose ill force myself to go though it somedaylemmings talk about it like its one of the best games out. so ............................ exactly how far into it before it actually starts to get good? im guessing im about 3 hours into it.

Interesting story and characters, decent combat thats gets better as you level up and unlock different skills and powers, good graphics (albeit with the dreaded 'pop-in'), interesting settings and universe with planet exploration and a great musical score. That's why I liked it.lemmings talk about it like its one of the best games out. so ............................ exactly how far into it before it actually starts to get good? im guessing im about 3 hours into it.

Some of the sidequests and exploring barren planets was pretty boring.Stevo_the_gamernot just the palnets. Each base on each planet was the same copy-paste base.

Without.Cookigaki did find ME a bit boring, only because it reminded Cookigaki of kotor only with light sabers.

Are you still in the Citadel? It gets better once you finish that part.Floppy_JimIt gets amazing once you get the ship the first 2 hrs is a huge contrast from the rest of the game.
I feel the same about MGS4 as you do about Mass Effect. That must make my opinion a fact, then. :D
Maybe you just don't like the game? Maybe you don't share the majority view? That's okie dokie, ya know?
I guess some people have never played any other RPG, though. Quick, go get Call of Duty 1,5975978 and blast fools!

Maybey have some smaller areas with more stuff to explore in them. Rather than having one giant barren wasteland. hell even the wasteland in fallout 3 has interesting set pieces and stuff.
I don't understand why some of you are calling him a troll. Now because someone has an opinion and you don't agree with it it's just wrong and is considered trolling?crazy-playerDo you make a pointless thread about every game you don't like?
And even if you did, you wouldn't post them in completely irrelevant forums like System Wars.
I played it on the PC and I found it boring, the Story seemed really cool, but everything else was meh. Made it about half way through before giving up.
So just cause you don't like the game you come on the forums and say this? It one of my favourite games this gen.
[QUOTE="LeGoofyGoober"][QUOTE="kobraka1"]
Haha who is the troll?
kobraka1
to be honest, instead of posting in one of the mass effect forums (either pc or xbox360) you posted in system wars, home of the flame wars, and you titled the thread 'mass effect is so boring' rather than something slightly less flamewar startish
You, actually.Haha who is the troll?
kobraka1
Yeah, sure, you didn't like the game, that's perfectly fine, I'm sure you're not the only one; and there's nothing wrong about going on to the internet and complaining about it either, but please, keep it to either the 360/Mass Effect Forum or your Blog. The only reason I can think of to post it in System Wars is to try and piss off lemmings/hermits/Mass Effect fans, which I'm sure you aren't about to admit to. Your eagerness to argue and prove other people wrong is only proof of your intentions.
