From what I seen it looks awsome, but I wish I seen just a bit of gameplay so I know what you will be seeing from your screen.
ps. 256 players?
It looked amazing. That and DC were the two best games shown at Sony IMO.HarlockJChow could it look "amazing"? They didnt show anything.....
Can you say Digital Distribution. Besides MMOs especially FPS games with the Dualshock? No thanks. Why woould I care for 200+ players if it's squad based? Makes no difference. If it's not like in Battlefield where you can jump into a airplane and aid your mates.
Don't hype M.A.G just yet por favor.
Info from IGN
MAG will support up to 256 players online, in eight player squads. Each squad gets a captain and there is a character growth system that allows players to level up. Medics, commandos, and field demolition characters are just some of the character types.

I smell Sony's replacement for Killzone 2 for the next 3 or 4 E3s. Does anybody expect to see this game being released before 2010? Because I don't.TDLlama

It has a commando...Yeah thats insta-fail
How do they choose the commando; what if hes an idiot; I'm gonna do what I thinks best, not listen to someone tell me how to play.

You are thinking of a Commander, they lead people, Commandos blow stuff up.
I am pretty sure there would be an overall commander of the men, which would be the worst 'character type' to be.
It's now my most hyped PS title with Infamous following. Is this game supposed to be coming this year?killab2oo5
Really doubt it, probably a 2010 game. (Maybe a late 2009)

Unless those who dont follow can get penalized in some way. Things have changed since TF2 was released for the first time

...I hope not. o_o That's a pretty long wait.it would have to be seriously good to justify a subscription fee, which MMOFPS's always have.cobrax75
Agreed.

Then your run into the problem of idiot commanders giving horrible orders and the players getting penalized for doing things like not running head long into the enemy strong points.
Looking at the info, it appears there may not be a total commander spot, I hope it stays that way.
I agree.I like the concept but they might wanna pack in a headset with the game if it really is based around 8 man squads.
And there will always be idiots who just run off alone to do their own thing and wont work with the squad.
Slyprince
And great sig. :P
Highly skeptical. It works in Battlefield 2, why can't it work here?
Ignoring the technical complications a 256 player server would face (in most games a single laggy connection can mess up the whole server) the practical ones are huge. People on the internet are jackasses (everyone should know that by now) and orchestrating the movements of 128 players is impossible, I don't care how many squads it's broken up into. most players don't even have mics!
Zipper is likely to take the "slacker's way out" and just have canned, pre-written scenarios or objectives for each squad to complete. I highly doubt they can put together a realistic experience while keeping it clean and maintain a level of individual skill. There's just too many things to overcome.

It looked amazing. That and DC were the two best games shown at Sony IMO.HarlockJCyou mean the trailer looked amazing? because we didn't see any gameplay.
I think they can pull off the concept, but I wonder what it'll look like in the end.

But at the same thime they could use some sort of commander score, sort of like a Host Score in other games, and the member of each team with the highest gets the spot. Yes that would cut some people from being commanders, but they could have places for us to lvl it up too. Dont know, Im not to interested in the game, but the feature would be nice. At least if they add split screen as in Warhawk, you could manage half your team easily :D
