Is that after halving the original sale numbers? I mean i bought at least three from RROD, like everyone i know.
It’ll survive. If there’s one thing I can admire about Microsoft and its consoles, it’s their resilience and grace under pressure.
Lems are hiding, thread is a ghost town.
It’s what they do best. They always hide anytime sales threads pop up especially when the threads have Xbone flopping.
? Where are the lems?
? Quick, someone mention PSVR so that i_pee_my_pants_daily can appear in the thread.
Lol... you cows give real PS fans a bad name.
They're a sad bunch. Notice how quack mentions me all the time, I guess he's distraught over me owning him all the time that he just can't get me out of his head LMFAO.

Because this is the kind of information that can't be damage controlled. It's too quantifiable, so they scatter.

That is something interesting,i actually think that if you take away re buys xbox 360,the xbox one is actually selling better, the fat 360 was manufacture until 2010, every fat model was destin to RROD,even newer models,i know the last one i owned was 2010 and RROD.
So taking out rebuys i think the xbox one is doing better.

Yeah, I owned 3 360's.
That things gotta have the worst fail rate in history of consoles.
Not surprising, Xbox 360 was a one-hit-wonder MS console.

Really? It never came to my mind on re-buying Xbox 360 and when I got my first RROD, I got a replacement for free by MS. If you don't mind me asking, I thought everyone knew if you got a RROD, MS will replace your current Xbox 360 for free? I wasn't around during the Xbox 360/PS3/Wii era on System Wars.
@davillain-: That's what I was thinking I had RROD 3 times, got it repaired twice for free and then they just gave me a new console the third time. Which I still have.
They even shipped it by courier from my house in the UK to Germany and then back again all for nothing.
A flaming bag of dog sh*t would sell better than the PS3. I still to this day can't understand how people liked that console. It was f*cking awful! I bought one for cheap at the end of last gen and I've regretted it ever since.
The controller was trash, let down by its terrible triggers that weren't pressure sensitive and made your fingers slip off of them.
The operating system was slow and clunky.
The way you had to download and install games was draconian. Steam and Xbox had it down that you download a game and then it will install it automatically. No, that was too much for Sony, you had to wait for it to download and then manually click to install it. Morons. So you leave your console on at night and then you'd still have to hit install the next morning instead of it being ready. Wasting time and electricity.
Then you had the fanboys banging on about its exclusives like they were the second coming. This was true on Xbox 360 as well but still annoying on both.
Then to top it off the CPU was an absolute monstrosity that made development a massive pain and most multi platform games ran worse on PS3 despite it technically being more powerful.
PS3 for me was just a masterclass in incompetence.

I was unaware warranty was free for life. It never covered all literations.
@Random_Matt: I didn't even had a warranty on my original Xbox 360 back when it was still new. When the RROD happen to me the first time, I went to MS web page about it and saw the page for a replacement for free and within the next few days, MS sent me a new Xbox 360 with no charge at all.
Now when MS announce Xbox 360 Slim, I admittedly buy the Slim version and it still runs to this day. Now that was the time I have bought a second Xbox 360 console but at least it was the Slim model.
@calvincfb: Yeah blind devotion to brands by the sheep masses is a hard thing to get rid of and the reason why crap like loot boxes and microtransactions are now rotting the industry from the inside out because people are too dumb to pick their purchases. Instead they just run in and buy everything like the good little brainless consumers they are.
The only thing PS3 sales prove is that sales mean nothing. Look at the Wii. It sold more than the PS3 and 360 combined and yet it was sat next to most people's TV not being used 90% of the year.
I didn't even mention how dogshit the PS3 servers were. They were so bad they even effected the PS4 when it first came out. They were SO bad it took nearly a year and a half into the PS4 lifecycle to sort out. No **** the PS3. It was the worst console Sony or perhaps anyone has ever made.
Honestly, there is no way it has kept up in the US either. MS has stopped using that line for about two years now. Maybe longer.
The only reason it was is because the 360 had shortages. Anyone who lived through both console launches knew the 360 was the hotter product when it came out. It was sold out for months. You could walk into any store and find stacks of unsold X1's on launch day.
@calvincfb: Quality exclusives sure but it had worse pretty much everything else. THAT is the point. I don't buy a console just for one or two good games. It has to be a good overall device. The PS3 wasn't.
Yeah sure it had The Last of Us. God of War was fun. I've always liked Quantic Dream's games. I never got on with Uncharted. Gran Turismo 5 and 6 were the worst GT games ever made.
BUT fanboys aside ALL platforms have good exclusive games. So saying PS3 had good exclusives doesn't set it apart. Not when PC and 360 had good exclusives and were better devices overall.
The PS3 was badly designed and WAY overpriced.

RROD warranty was 3 years, not unlimited so if your first unit RROD 10 times durings those 3 years you were cover, but if your unit was older than 3 years you were force to buy a new one.
When MS replace your console for RROD it didn't give you 3 more years on that model, you have left only the time remaining on your first model.
So by 2008 all those early adopters were out of warranty,by december 2009 all 2006 units and older were out of warranty, and by 2010 when they stopped making the fat model, all 2007 and older models were out of warranty.
My 2010 xbox 360 RROD outside those 3 years.
So yeah there were millions of rebough units.

Then your ultra lucky,if you bought your console on 2006 by 2009 you were out of warranty,if you were an early adopter by 2008 you were out of warranty.
It was a 3 year warranty, and any repair or new model that MS gave you didn't have 3 more years,it only had left the remaining time of your original unit.
If you bought it on 2006 and it RROD on 2008,you didn't get 3 more years on that model MS fixed you, or gave you new,you only had until 2009.
My brother in law got 3.many that i know 2 as well,i don't know a single xbox 360 owner on PR who didn't buy a second model after been out of warranty.
@sciencemandan: you have to understand it's not about performance, graphics or OS, it's about the games and it will always be.
That's the reason the PS brand is relevant, the reason why the 3DS being immensely underpowered succeeded and the reason Xbox always failed since the PS2 era.

lol when was that on 2010.?
1-It wasn't the next few days,it was average 21 days for arrival, when RROD warranty was extended for 3 years on 2007 (the 360 release on 2005) a landslide of repairs started, they say on their page 21 days average but in reality it was a month or more for most people, there were tales of units even gone missing. It was horrible.
2-The warranty wasn't eternal it was 3 year by summer 2007 when the 3 year warranty kicked in,the xbox 360 was almost 2 years old,by december 31 2008 all 2005 units were out of warranty.
So you see you probably got your 360 after 2007 or 2008,because the first models 2005,2006,2007 were by far the worst ones, and by the end of 2010 all those were out of warranty, which mean buy a new 360 either fat or slim.
You bought a slim 360 so yeah you owned 2 xbox 360 and one of those counts as a rebought xbox 360.
5.7m Vs 4.4m then. This is enough to get the cows so excited that they produce milk shakes....
Laughably insecure.....

The thing is a lot 360's seemed like they had timers to self destruct lol.
The MS warranty was for free replacement was only good for 1 year. If your system was to go belly up after that time, you were shit out of luck, you either buy a new system or be stuck with a ton of games and no system.
I just I did get 2 free replacements...but I STILL had to buy 3 out of pocket because they crapped out just after the 1 year warranty's were over.
@tgob89: They changed the warranty when things went tits up with rrod. You were covered for 1 year, and 3 years for rrod. They also unofficially gave lifetime warranty against rrod if it happened 3 times; I had 2 repaired, and then a new one sent. There was a note with the third console saying it was covered against rrod for the lifetime of the console... 6 months after the 3 year period it went again, and ms picked it up and repaired it after that it was ok.
Looks like the hottest topic by far and I mean, it's not even close for this entire gen is Xbox which only goes to show what I've been saying this whole time.......... Xbox Won!!! :P
Is that after halving the original sale numbers? I mean i bought at least three from RROD, like everyone i know.
Why did people do this? After a second RROD I'd be totally done. I was done with one RROD, and I was "only" willing to buy a second PS3 after one YLOD.
@tgob89: Well yeah they had to draw the line somewhere. They can't go offering everyone a lifetime warranty.
If they had given people a two year warranty there would still be people who's console broke just after the two years was up.
It's not Microsoft's fault you had bad luck. The fact they offered an extended warranty at all is more than a lot of companies would have done.
